The farm theme is a rare one to encounter with slots. There are a handful of them, especially some featuring farm animals, but Golden Farm is definitely right on point here. Set against a lovely rural backdrop with green pastures, a farm house and windmill, the slot features prized crops and a number of farm animals on the reels. The details are rendered beautifully, and all the animals are actually quite cute, especially the duck. But cow, pig, chicken and goat are also cute. You get some lovely visual details here, which adds to the entertainment value of this game.

The crops are the low-paying symbols and each prize bow even carries a letter for the playing cards the substitute. The farm animals are the high-paying symbols, though the farm boy and girl pay the most in this slot, up to 600x your stake if you manage to get 5 in a winning line. The farm boy is also the wild symbol here and substitutes all other symbols in the game.

The main feature of the slot are the replicating reels. On each spin one reel is randomly highlighted. Should the symbols on this reel be stacked symbols of one kind when it stops spinning, the reel and its symbols will be replicated to the next two adjacent reels – one on each side (or two reels 2 and 3 when the reel is the first one, and vice versa on reels 4 and 3, if it is the fifth). That way you get three reels with the same symbol, which can result in some high payouts – as long as the reels land in the right place (winnings including reels 3, 4 and 5 are rare) and are filled with high-paying symbols.

Taking this feature a step further are the wild re-spins. Should you manage to get three wilds on your highlighted reel, it will replicate as well, giving you three wild reels. Any winnings are paid out and then the wild reels are locked into place and you get a free re-spin. Once again winnings are paid out and the game resumes as normal. We’ve were lucky enough to have this happen once, playing out around 200 spins, and the payout was impressive.

The replicating reels occur more frequently than that, though, making it a worthwhile feature.

The theoretical RTP (return to player) for Golden Farm is 96.49%, which is pretty decent. Golden Farm is a lovely game with a beautifully designed theme. You get one main feature that has a great extension, but there are no bonus games or free spins to speak of. Mind you, it’s not the only slot out there that lives of one main feature and has to do without any bonus games to speak of. Some of the most popular slots are like that and nobody is complaining. You may eventually get bored with theme and feature here, but you will also find it a good value slot that will keep you entertained for some time.
