The South Park boys are back and this time chaos reigns. This NetEnt offering is featuring Stan, Kyle, Cartman and Kenny once again. There are also a few other characters, but don’t expect to see as many of them as in the original South Park slot. Instead you’ll be facing evil minions, General Disarray and Professor Chaos. The boys are all superheroes facing off against the villains trying to overtake South Park, which makes for quite an entertaining slot that is packed with bonus features.
Professor Chaos is the highest paying symbol and reels in 1,000 coins if you manage to get him five times on a payline. Cartman, who looks more like a racoon here, brings 500 coins in a similar combination and Kenny offers up 300 coins. Stan and Kyle are worth 200 and 150 coins, respectively, if you spin them five times each onto the reels. The remaining symbols are low-paying playing card symbols from 10 to Ace.
You’ll find the main game already full of bonus features. There are four in total, one for each of the boys. Cartman’s Stacked Wilds are triggered randomly, just like the other three features, and has Cartman chasing after villain General Disarray, who’s climbing up and down the reels. Where Cartman follows the reels will turn wild.
During Kenny’s Multiplier Kenny is facing off against Professor Chaos himself. They are fighting each other and a wheel of fortune determines what multiplier is applied to your win. Up to 5x is possible here.
Kyle’s Random Wilds has Kyle shooting at the evil minions, which are actually armoured guinea pigs and look quite ridiculous. Whenever Kyle hits a reel symbol it will turn wild. Usually you’ll get about 3 to 5 overlay wilds here.
Stan’s Multiplier Re-spins tend to occur most frequently. Stan will come out and try to fix the reels, because they’re not offering up any wins. He will ‘repair’ the reels on every successive non-winning spin, which in turn will bring up a multiplier at the top of the screen. You’ll be hoping for a lot of losing spins, because the multiplier will then climb up to 10x.
Finally there’s the Mintberry Crunch Epic Bonus Free Spins bonus. Here the main hero of the game, Mintberry Crunch, who is half boy and half berry, will face off against Professor Chaos and his minions. You’ll get pretty much infinite re-spins as long as you survive. A power meter at the top of the screen shows your strength and the strength of your enemies. Every winning spin means you’ll be able to fire and vanquish the villains, every losing spin results in an attack against you and loss of power.
First you’ll be facing the evil minions, then follows General Disarray and then Professor Chaos. If you manage to defeat him on level 3, he will pull out all stops and turn into an anime-like super-villain, who very much looks like the super-powered guys on Dragonball Z. In order to win the game, you’ll have to defeat him. Alas, since your power bar does not get refilled, you’ll rarely get there. But it’s fun trying and free spins come around often enough. You’ll need the scatter symbol to land on reels 1, 3 and 5 to get there.
The return to player (RTP) rate of South Park Reel Chaos is a theoretical 96.80%. That’s a very good value and in itself reason enough to play this slot. South Park Reel Chaos is actually hugely entertaining, whether you’re a fan of the series or not. This slot is quite removed from the first offering and can hardly be compared with it. It’s a bit like watching one of the more special South Park episodes, though here you actually get to play along instead of just watching what happens. Unless you’re really not into a lot of bonus features, this slot is definitely worth a try.
