Theme and game basics

The original Jurassic Park movie this slot is based on was released all the way back in 1993 and at the time the movie was ground-breaking. It was also incredibly successful, resulting in several sequels. Surprisingly, Microgaming only decided to make a video slot based on the movie in 2014, perhaps to celebrate the 20-year anniversary the year prior.
The theme has been incredibly well adapted by Microgaming. The symbols float on invisible reels before a jungle background. Scenes change as we experience different free spins and dinosaurs appear every once in a while, most impressive among them, of course, is the T-Rex. The background sound is dark and moody and we get the occasional dinosaur roar as well.
The symbols feature the movie’s main characters and a bunch of humans. The humans are the higher paying symbols, offering between 8x and 13x your stake, though it is the scatter symbol (the mosquito encased in amber) that is the highest value symbol of all, giving us 100x our stake. The Jurassic Park logo acts as the wild, which pays 26x your stake in a 5-of-a-kind win.

Gameplay and features

Jurassic Park is a volatile slot, no doubt about it. The main attraction in the base game is the randomly activated T-Rex Alert. The alert is active for six consecutive spins where the T-Rex lurks about in the background. 35 additional wild symbols are added to the reels and may yield great wins. The spins during the alert are played at the value of your stake from the beginning of the alert.
Three scatters will trigger the free spin modus, where you get to experience one of five different free spin games. After you’ve played 25 free spin rounds, you’ll be able to choose among the five games, until then they are chosen for you at random.
