Lucky Halloween takes Halloween as its theme, of course. It’s not the scary or creepy kind of Halloween slot. We don’t get witches, vampires, werewolves or zombies here. Instead we get the Pumpkin Biker. This is a colourful and fun slot with a cool Harley Davidson, a grinning Pumpkin Biker and some cute symbols on the reels.
The scene is set near a field with a dark castle in the background. It’s night, of course. The scene is beautifully drawn and it’s nice that we don’t just get gloomy colours but that the colours are quite bright here, which adds to the fun of the theme.
The Lucky Halloween symbol is the highest-value symbol, paying out 320 coins for 5 of a kind. The purple hat is worth 160 coins for such a win. There’s a cat wrapped in bandages worth 140 coins for 5 on a payline and the potion pays out 120 coins. The cupcake with the googly eyes is still worth 100 coins for such a win.
The wild is a widely grinning pumpkin and we also get low value playing card symbols from 10 to A.
You can play this game from 0.10 to 200.00 per spin, though this may vary between casinos.
There are four random features in the base game that can show up when the Pumpkin Biker rides his Harley across the screen. Every now and then you’ll see him play with his pumpkin head on the left-side of the reels. And sometimes he follows on his Harley, leaving behind one of his features:
Beyond these four actual features, the Pumpkin Biker may also leave behind 3 bonus scatters or three free spin scatters, triggering either feature.
The castle is the bonus scatter and three anywhere on the reels activates the Full Moon bonus. We see a path up to the castle and get to pick among a bunch of pumpkins to determine how many jumps we may take from multiplier to multiplier.
Sometimes we get 1 jump, other times 5. A shoe on the screen takes the jumps and whatever multiplier we land on is guaranteed. The feature stops when we either reach the highest multiplier at the top of the castle (800x) or we pick a pumpkin that gives us a number of jumps plus the ‘collect’ symbol.
Most of the time you’ll end up with a multiplier between 10x and 30x. Rarely more.
The free spins are almost the least interesting feature in the game. They are triggered with at least three cauldron scatters on the reels. As is typical for Red Tiger, we get to pick one of the cauldrons, revealing how many free spins we get (usually between 8 and 20).
During the free spins the Pumpkin Biker may show up with his various features as well, guaranteeing some wins here and there. Still, the free spins don’t add anything special to the game, even though we get a break from paying spins.
The theoretical RTP (Return to Player) of Lucky Halloween is 96.16%, which is quite decent, especially for a slot that is not volatile at all. The slot is one of the most fun games we’ve played in the Red Tiger portfolio. And you can play it throughout the year, not just in October.
As it is, Lucky Halloween has enough going on to keep you going and not worry too much about triggering the free spins or the pick-me bonus. The latter is the more lucrative of the two, if you manage to get ahead and get more than three picks.
The only thing that will make you move on eventually is the lack of truly epic wins. You can have tons of fun for a while and win enough to keep going, but big wins are almost impossible to find here and if you’re looking for those, you’ll have to look elsewhere.
