Casumo Casino Review

Casumo was established in 2012, after the makers of the casino apparently received a call for help from a parallel universe. Boredom needed to be erased and so they created Casumo – a fun, adventure based casino for everyone. The casino is owned and operated by Casumo Services Limited and has thus far enjoyed an independence that rivals that of much bigger online casinos.

The concept is simple: sign-up to play, meet Casumo the mascot, earn belts, visit new planets, get free spins, super spins and other rewards and make sure to never get bored. Well, it does sound rather unique, we must admit, and Casumo certainly manages to be unexpected.

Much has changed, and always for the better, since Casumo first opened its doors. Nowadays players can benefit from a staggering number of software providers such as ELK Studios, Yggdrasil Gaming, Microgaming, NetEnt, IGT, WMS, Quickspin and a few more. That means the range of available games is extensive and players can look forward to hundreds of slots and other games.

There’s also a generous welcome package available on sign-up. You’re not just here to play with the mascot and go on adventures. No, you’ll be able to grab up to €1,200 in bonus money as well as 200 free spins. If you need more reasons to sign up at Casumo, here they are:

  • Impressive collection of games from multiple providers
  • Now download required
  • Regular and attractive bonuses
  • Live casino and mobile casino
  • 24/7 live chat
  • Adventure-style casino

A huge and generous welcome package

There are many reasons to play at Casumo and the generous welcome bonus is certainly among them. Not only will you receive 200 free spins, but you can lay your hands on as much as €1,200 in bonus money for the first five deposits you make here.

Bonus WR Type Bonus Code Expires Info
200% up to €50 25x Welcome 3 months Info
200 Free spins 25x Free Spins 3 months Info
50% up to €150 25x 2nd Deposit 3 months Info
50% up to €200 25x 3rd Deposit 3 months Info

The first deposit bonus may appear a little small, but it’s actually incredibly budget friendly. You don’t have to invest an awful lot in order to try out the casino and once you’re ready you can make further deposits and claim more bonus cash.

Of course, the welcome bonus comes with wagering requirements. If you want to be able to withdraw the bonus or any winnings from it, you’ll have to wager the deposit and the bonus 25 times. Free spin winnings on the other hand need to be wagered 30 times.

Almost all slots will contribute 100% towards completing the wagering requirements. But a few exceptions are excluded entirely. Find those over at Casumo. Furthermore, Video Poker contributes with 30% and a few casino poker games contribute with 10%. Roulette, Baccarat and BlackJack don’t contribute at all.

Overall the welcome package is pretty generous and the wagering requirements are nothing unusual.

An incredible selection of slots and more

It must be noted that Casumo started out as a NetEnt only casino once upon a time. Back in the day they offered less than 200 games and all of them came from NetEnt. Whilst they make some great slots, among them true classics, it was a rather limited choice.

In the meantime Casumo really seems to have decided to wage war on boredom by adding a staggering number of other providers to their portfolio. Nowadays you’ll find games from Thunderkick, Quickspin, ELK Studios, Play’n GO, WMS, IGT, Bally Barcrest, Yggdrasil Gaming, Microgaming, NextGen Gaming and even Novoline here.

Unfortunately not all games are available for players from all countries due to licensing restrictions, but in some places you may be able to play the iconic Book of Ra from Novoline alongside Play’n GO’s homage Book of Dead. Then you may decide who did a better job with theme and execution.

Of course, slots aren’t everything and it would definitely get boring, if Casumo didn’t offer anything else. A choice of table games is also available. You’ll find Roulette, Baccarat, BlackJack and Casino Poker variations here, but Red Dog, Punto Banco and Pontoon can also be played here. Nearly forty table games are currently available at Casumo.

Under the section ‘other games’ you’ll find some Video Poker games as well as Keno. There is really not that much missing, unless you’re looking for Bingo or Craps and the like.

Choose NetEnt or Evolution Gaming tables

You won’t easily find a separate section for live games at casino. You won’t really need it, either. Simply check the table games section and you’ll find live games there as well. Interestingly Casumo provides live casino tables from NetEnt as well as Evolution Gaming.
In the NetEnt section you’ll find Roulette and BlackJack only. Among the Evolution Gaming tables you’ll be able to enjoy Roulette, BlackJack, Baccarat and Casino Poker games.

Overall the choice isn’t huge, but it’s acceptable. At least you get to choose between two providers, in case you have a preference for one or the other.

Needless to say that there’s no Poker room or network attached to Casumo. The live Poker tables here will have to suffice, but we won’t complain.

The biggest jackpots are all here

No online casino would be complete without a section for progressive jackpots. Casumo doesn’t offer a huge number of them, but the most important of the big jackpots are here and that’s really all we’re asking for. Since they’ve been adding a lot of games lately, we wouldn’t be surprised to see more jackpots in the future either. If you’re looking for a life-changing win, try the following jackpots:

  • Mega Moolah
  • Mega Fortune
  • Mega Fortune Dreams
  • Hall of Gods
  • Arabian Nights

Smaller jackpots are available on Cosmic Fortune, Divine Fortune, Wizard of Odds or Mega Joker. There’s also a Caribbean Stud jackpot, which is always a welcome addition.

Casumo ambassadors are available around the clock

That’s the most important thing to know, really. It’s a little funny that the customer service team is called ambassadors, but sure, why not. At least ambassadors tend to represent something and they want to do a good job. Thus you can expect excellent customer support at Casumo.
The team is available 24/7 via live chat and email. A dedicated phone service is not provided, but more often than not you won’t feel the need to call, especially with live chat being so convenient.

Before you make contact, however, you’ll find yourself browsing the comprehensive FAQ section, which covers many questions already. All the important information you need before signing up is provided here, which is quite handy. If your problem is a little more special, you’ll receive a timely reply via chat or email instead.

The bare minimum of payment options

Interestingly Casumo also doesn’t have a separate section for banking or payment options. Once more you’ll be browsing the FAQ section to find the information you need on this topic. Nothing wrong with that, of course, as long as the information is provided.

Alas, Casumo decided to go with the bare minimum of payment methods: Visa, MasterCard, Skrill, Neteller, paysafecard or wire transfers are available. Usually one of these methods is sufficient, though. Since most casinos prefer that customer use the same method for deposits and withdrawals, keeping it to a minimum is not a bad idea either.

Only MasterCard and paysafecard are not available for withdrawals, which makes things easier in this case. Additionally, transaction times are pretty quick at Casumo. After approval it takes no time at all using Skrill or Neteller and no more than three days for the other methods.
Also, there does not appear to be a limit on withdrawals, which is always good news. We have checked the terms and conditions on this, but do make sure to double check as well.

Casumo comes with two licenses

Casumo is among those casinos that provide more than just one license. In their case they have received a license from the Malta Gaming Authority, which is in itself very good, because the MGA is very reputable.

But on top of that Casumo also received a license from the UK Gambling Commission and those are a lot harder to come by, because the UKGC is one of the strictest gambling jurisdictions around. When a casino has one of their licenses, it always inspires confidence.

Of course, all the software providers that Casumo works with also have multiple licenses and are usually working with testing labs such as TST to ensure complete randomness during gameplay.

Fair play and safety are definitely taken seriously at Casumo. Just check out their ‘Play okay’ section, which deals with problematic gambling. It’s a great section to look through and something that is woefully underrepresented in many other online casinos that merely link to sites such as gambleaware.

Whilst plenty of information can be found at Casumo and the ambassadors are of great help, we can’t give full marks on transparency. The payout information of the casino are not published anywhere, which is always a bit of a shame. Perhaps they can be added in the future, so we will know what players can realistically expect in return, instead of just seeing a theoretical RTP for individual games.

A fun and unusual gambling environment

Casumo’s design and layout takes a moment to get used to. On the left-hand side you have a few quick links to sign up, login or find the games. Underneath that is a rolling screen showing us the latest winners at Casumo. A help button is available there as well and a live chat window pops up, if you click on it.

Landing on the front page you’ll see a space theme, which only really takes up the top part of the screen. Once you scroll down you’ll find out more about what makes Casumo great and why you should sign up. The theme gets taken up again at the bottom; you are, after all, travelling from planet to planet when playing here.

There is a sense of adventure and fun with the theme. The space background provides the adventure and the Casumo mascot is there for the fun. You’ll need a moment to get used to this unusual theme, which rarely feels as if you’re visiting an online casino.

We also love the games browser and the icons of the games, which are neatly stacked together. Graphically this has been very well done and it looks simply neat. You get the impression that the layout was optimised for mobile, which is not a bad thing at all.

Further links to other sections of the page can be found at the bottom of the website, making navigation a pretty straightforward affair.

A fantastic mobile experience

Casumo has been built for adventure and you get the full experience of that via mobile as well, which is pretty fantastic. You can see your experience points, which belt your Casumo is wearing, what your achievements are and all your badges. It’s all very well organized even on mobile.

And let’s not forget about playing games. Casumo’s selection of slots is not a huge as that of other online casinos, but here you do get the best and most modern games available. That means that a majority of them is optimised for mobile use, so you can enjoy a great range on mobile as well. And all that without the need for an app.

In other words: Casumo’s mobile casino is compatible with just about any device. So it’s really easy to have fun on the go and explore new planets, no matter which mobile device you call your own.

Earn rewards, travel to distant planets and try reel races

It’s really easy to earn bonuses and rewards at Casumo. The whole concept of this online casino is built on that. You play games, make deposits, collect experience points and climb new levels. You’ll receive rewards for that and get to journey to the next planet, where new adventures await.

Your Casumo mascot will be able to earn new Sumo belts (there are 9 in total) and there are plenty of achievements to collect as well. Of course, you don’t have to participate in this aspect of playing at Casumo, but it certainly adds to the fun.

If you want something a little more tangible, we recommend the Reel Races, which take place every single day. Actually, these tournaments take place every 30 minutes, so you can try your luck multiple times a day. The aim is to collect as many big wins, mega wins and wins in a row on the qualifying slots. Hundreds of prizes, including €1,000 in cash, are available every day and the reel races are definitely a highlight at Casumo.

Conclusion: Definitely a fun adventure to go on

There’s little to fault at Casumo. We’ve already mentioned the things that bother us about the casino. There really aren’t a lot of payment options available and we can’t find anything about the payout information either. Perhaps there are a few other niggly bits, but nothing that truly stands out as bothersome.

Casumo offers a fantastic range of game providers and therefore brings us a fantastic selection of games. The put a lot of thought into the concept and the gambling environment and it’s just about having some fun. At the same time they really don’t underestimate problem gambling either.

And their ambassadors are on hand 24/7. There’s not much else we could ask from an online casino. We’re not looking for Poker playing opportunities here and sports betting can be done elsewhere. So we don’t really feel that these things are truly missing at Casumo. We can definitely recommend that you join the adventure here.
