Trollpot 5000 Slot Review
Released in June 2020, this game can be played at online casinos such as PlayOjo, ComeOn! or Maria Casino.
Theme and general information
Trollpot 5000 is undeniably a classic slot. It looks quite modern though, and whilst simple in many ways, the graphics are well-executed with colourful symbols and crisp looks.
This is a direct clone of Grand Spinn, however, which gave us Art Deco elements and a jazzy club soundtrack. That’s missing in Trollpot 5000, which is meant to give us the feel of a land-based slot machine. As such, the spinning reels sound just like that, though perhaps a little more subdued than the clanking we often get in land-based casinos.
In any case, the background is a rich blue with a few geometric patterns, and we get some fairly classic symbols on the reels. There are BAR symbols, 4-leaf clovers, mushrooms, an unspecified sort of emblem, stars and lucky 7s. The latter is the highest value symbol at 10x our stake for 3 of its kind.
There’s only 1 payline, by the way, which runs horizontally on the middle row across all three reels.
There is also an arrow symbol (which looks more like a flat triangle) and a Multiplier Joker, which acts as a wild and comes with a 2x multiplier.
You can play this game from 0.02 to 200.00 per spin, which makes it suitable for all budgets.
Nudging the reels for further wins
Scoring a win at a hit rate of just over 6% isn’t that easy in Trollpot 5000. But when it does happen and a winning combination lines up on the middle row things get interesting. Starting on the 1st reel, the reels then begin nudging down one position as long as a matching symbol is in view, allowing for further wins to be created.
Once a different symbol appears in the stack, the nudge moves onto the next reel and continues nudging symbols downward for further consecutive wins. Eventually, we end up on the last reel and the process repeats.
The multiplier wild can also come into play. It comes with a 2x multiplier, but if we get two of them, we get a 4x multiplier on our win and three of them result in an 8x multiplier.
Three Jackpots
Then there are three static jackpots that can be triggered. Should three jackpot symbols land either on the single payline or after all the nudges are complete above the payline, the lowest of the three jackpots represented will be paid out.
So, if we get two Midi and a Mini jackpot symbol, the Mini will be paid out. Or one of each means also the Mini jackpot is paid out. Only if we get three matching Midi or Mega jackpot symbols, would we receive the corresponding jackpot.
- Mini = 20x our stake
- Midi = 100x our stake
- Mega = 5,000x our stake
Verdict: A good-looking clone that doesn’t have anything new to offer
The theoretical RTP (Return to Player) of Trollpot 5000 is 96.19%, which is decent, though this is a highly volatile slot. Do keep in mind that the hit frequency is quite low, though the nudges make up for that when they get going.
On the whole, Trollpot 5000 is a nice-looking game, which you couldn’t really fault on a standalone basis. But as it is, it doesn’t stand alone. It’s an exact clone of Grand Spinn, which isn’t that old either, and we don’t even get the version with the progressive jackpot.
As such, it leaves us wondering why NetEnt bothered to bring out this slot as it has absolutely nothing new to offer. It’s a fairly classic slot with a great feature, which is working to its advantage. But we already got that with Grand Spinn. So, what’s the point?
Give it a go, if you like, but you may as well play Grand Spinn instead.
