Swipe and Roll Slot Review
Swipe and Roll is a NetEnt slot with 5 reels and 20 fixed paylines. You may be able to play Swipe and Roll at Online Casinos such as Betsson, LV Bet or Speedy Casino.
Theme and game basics
NetEnt is getting nostalgic with one of their newest slots, Swipe and Roll. The theme is vintage and we find ourselves in an American diner somewhere in the late 50s or early 60s with a few old-fashioned slot machines on one side. The reels themselves have been done up in a great retro look as well, though we do get 5 instead of the traditional 3 reels. Add to that the rocking background sound and you will get a feel for this vintage game.
Almost a classic fruit machine, we find melons, oranges, plums and the playing card symbols A, K and Q on the reels. That’s a relatively small number of symbols, which increases the likelihood of scoring winning combinations. The melon is the highest value symbol with 300 coins in a 5-of-a-kind win. Additionally, we get diamond wilds and bell scatters on the reels.
Gameplay and features
The diamond wilds appear on all five reels, however, on reels 2, 3 and 4 they will also come with a 3x multiplier, which get added together, if multiple of them become part of a winning combination. In theory, if the 3x wilds come stacked on all three middle reels, you could end up with a 27x multiplier. Also, getting at least three wild symbols anywhere on the reels, will trigger the wild re-spin. All wilds will then be locked in place on the reels and you get a re-spin. If more wilds show up, more re-spins are awarded. Otherwise you’ll get any wins on the reels paid out and the fun continues.
The second random feature in the base game is the coin wheel. It may show up at any time and start spinning to land on a coin win, a scatter symbol or an arrow that points up or down. A random coin win will simply be paid out, whereas the scatter will trigger the bonus feature. Should you get an arrow, the win immediately above or below the arrow will be handed out (once again this may be a scatter symbol).
The bonus game is triggered either via the coin wheel or by collecting three bell scatters on reels 2, 3 and 4. That’s when the swipe and roll feature starts. You’re asked to swipe each of the three reels that have appeared. Here, too, coin wins are available, but you’ll get to swipe all three reels for random wins that are added up in the end. If an arrow appears, the winning area gets expanded in that direction (up, down and up/down are all possible).
Conclusion
The theoretical RTP (return to player) of Swipe and Roll is 96.35%. Surprisingly, most of the time we had higher returns whilst playing, because wins seem to be a frequent thing. Mostly, the wild re-spins gave us the biggest wins in the game, though the random coin wins don’t hurt either. During 300 spins, however, we only managed to trigger the bonus game once, which may just have been a little unlucky in our case.
Swipe and Roll is a simple and easy game with a catchy rock soundtrack and features that will keep you going for some time. Since we generally managed to win our money back, we felt inclined to keep on going, never once experiencing a significant dip in our budget after more than 300 spins. The theme is a lot less sophisticated than what NetEnt is capable of. But not all games need to wow us with their graphics as long as the gameplay is satisfactory, which is certainly the case here.
