Hero Gaming creates Blitz for NetEnt games

Hero Gaming is the company behind CasinoHeroes and Betser and they’ve teamed up with NetEnt to give us a speedier way of playing games.

The Blitz interface

Did you know, the German word for lightning is “Blitz”? It’s one of those words that has been adopted into the English language to signify lightning fast speed. And Hero Gaming, the iGaming company behind CasinoHeroes and sports betting site Betser, have now come up with a new interface that lets players experience games at lightning speed.

The company is branching out, intent on coming up with new and innovative iGaming solutions in many areas. They’ve teamed up with NetEnt to allow players to experience their games at a much higher speed than usual. Six times faster, to be precise.

Instead of seeing reels spinning, fanciful animations on the side and wins accumulating, players will now only see a lightning circle in the middle of the screen that will show them their winnings.

The game mechanics as such have not been altered. The Blitz interface acts as a sort of overlay over the normal NetEnt games and simply runs them through the motions a lot faster.

Excited developers

The developers, Hero Gaming, are excited about this new feature and hope to expand on it in the future. Hero Gaming’s CEO, Tomas Bäckman, points out just how much the industry is changing right now, and that his company wants to stay at the forefront of innovative gaming solutions.

Henrik Fagerlund, CPO of NetEnt, is just as pleased with the collaboration, hoping to see similar products developed in the future.

The benefit for players

The main question, of course, is whether or not players will make use of the Blitz feature. Sure, some slots are awfully slow when you play them, and nobody really needs to see all the different line winnings highlighted when you hit a winning combination. Sometimes the animations or characters in a game are clapping their hands or jump around excitedly after every win, which takes up time.

But playing slots is also very much about the entertainment factor they provide and not just about seeing reels spinning and wins accumulate (if they do, which they often don’t). So, what’s the point of looking at the reels, not really seeing anything and simply watching some numbers?

We’re not sure and will wait to see how players embrace this new feature.
