Spinsane Slot Review
Spinsane is a video slot from NetEnt with 5 reels and 27 paylines. Released in June 2019, you can play this game at online casinos such as PlayOjo, Guts or Vera&John.
Theme and basic information
Spinsane is a bit of an odd slot when it comes to the theme. The setup is quite classic. You almost get the impression of looking at a fruit machine in a pub or somewhere. The reels are curved, and the blinking lights give the whole thing a bit of a futuristic look.
That aside, we also get a wolf theme here as all symbols on the reels are wolves or associated with them. The wolf head, a wolf howling at the moon (which is the scatter), a paw print and a wolf tooth. Finally, there’s the wild.
But before you think that you’re in for tons of wins with just three regular and two special symbols on the reels, you should know that the game uses the stepper mechanics, meaning that the symbols appear in irregular patterns on the reels. There’s lots of empty space in between, so sometimes you get just five symbols with one on each real. And very rarely 15 symbols cover the reels.
The wolf is the highest value symbol with 500 coins for 5 on a payline. The paw gives us 100 coins for such a win and the tooth 25 coins.
You can play this game from 0.10 to 500.00, which certainly makes it suitable for high rollers as well.
Super symbols in the base game
We’ve mentioned the regular value of the three symbols spinning on the reels. But you will notice special symbols as well. They look like the regular ones, but fiery scratches cross the symbols. And that gives them extra value, in fact, 10x the value of the regular symbols.
If you manage to get five special wolves on the reels, you could therefore win 5,000 coins. The special symbols can be a part of a winning symbol including their regular counterparts, but then they don’t have the higher value.
A bonus feature with plenty of free spins
In order to trigger the free spins, you need five scatters on the reels. Since scatters almost always land stacked on the reels, that not too difficult to achieve. At least not as difficult as you might think.
For each scatter that triggers the free spins, you get 2 free spins. That means you start out with at least 10 spins and could get 30 at the most. During the free spins, though, each scatter landing on the reels will award one additional spin.
Also, during the feature, one reel will be randomly wild on each spin (except for reel 1, though).
Conclusion: If you like the slot type, you might love Spinsane
The theoretical RTP (Return to Player) for Spinsane is 96.26%, which is pretty decent value. The volatility for this slot goes towards the high end, however, though not extremely so. Sometimes you’ll win more often, sometimes less so.
This is a slot you’ll be able to like, if you like the mechanics, including the stepper mechanics. And you have to like the look and theme of it. In part, we liked the look, though we’re not sure about the wolf theme. Perhaps different symbols would have suited the atmosphere a little better. In any case, the slot is quite playable for a little while. If you’ll return to it, is a different matter, however.
