Yggdrasil Gaming has just released a new slot: Tut’s Twister. Ancient Egypt themed slots have been making a huge comeback lately and this is the Swedish developers take on it.
Ancient Egypt with a twist
Yggdrasil never disappoints. They’ve taken on just about every slot theme under the sun by now and they always manage to make it their own. Ancient Egypt themed slots have a tendency to all look somewhat the same. You’ll get some pretty playing card symbols and then Ancient Egyptian paraphernalia such as the Pharaoh’s mask, Scarabs and other golden statues and what not on the reels.
You get some of that with Tut’s Twister as well, mind you. But it looks a lot less shiny and golden here. You actually get the rugged look of an ancient temple made of sandstone that is backdrop for the reels and symbols. The sandstorm is howling in the background and hieroglyphs are decorating the temple.
A grim-looking Mummy is standing to the left and he gets quite agitated whenever at least one Wild makes it onto the reels. As soon as a second Wild appears, he’ll jump onto the reels that the left-most Wild landed on and a twister appears. This is when the re-spins begin.
Great features
On every re-spin the remaining Wilds wander towards the twister, awarding more wins as winning combinations appear on the reels. More Wilds showing up, means more re-spins, until all Wilds have been sucked up by the twister. After your last chance, all Wilds are spat out by the twister, landing in random positions on the reels and a final win may be awarded.
Also, every Wild showing up on the reels will add to the meter on the right-hand side. Every three Wilds will increase your multiplier by 1x.
Additionally, you can collect hieroglyphs above each reel, which is not easily achieved. Once all hieroglyphs are collected for a given reel, the twisting wild re-spins are activated again, but in a slightly different manner.
