Thunderkick is one of our favourite slot developers among the new generation. They released their last game in June. Now it’s time for a new one.
Jaguar Temple
The title of the new slot, which is set for release on the 19th September, is Jaguar Temple. We’re somewhere in the Andes and the theme is clearly Aztec. High-paying animal totems are on the reels and low-paying card suit symbols.
Apparently, the game comes with expanding wilds, mega symbols and a free spin feature as well. The slot will have an RTP of 96.1%, which is not overly impressive, but you can win up to 2,045 times your bet, which is decent.
Overall, the mechanics sound good to us, even though the theme is not as imaginative as we’re used to from Thunderkick, who always manage to bring something new and surprising to the table. We’ll have to wait and see how this game actually plays out once it hits online casinos.
A three-month break?
What baffles us more is the fact that it’s been three months since the last Thunderkick game was released. Early June we’ve seen their Yeti mobile slot, which was entertaining enough. But since then, nothing. Though Thunderkick has been pretty steady during the first half of the year with new releases on almost a monthly basis.
Perhaps the developer has just taken an extended summer break. We can’t say for sure. No reason has been given for the break. And we can tell you that Jaguar Temple is not exceptional enough that it simply took longer than usual to develop the game.
We’re certainly hoping to see more games from Thunderkick released in the next few months, however. But no major announcements have been made. Then again, this developer isn’t among those that announce their games months in advance. They prefer to surprise us instead.
So, we’re waiting to be surprised.
