Lewis Hamilton Slams Auckland Sky City Casino

F1 champion Lewis Hamilton has accused Sky City Casino in Auckland, New Zealand  for treating him like dirt and having rude employees.

The driver revealed this information in a post on his Twitter profile, but soon removed it. Nonetheless, it caught the eye of his 3.22 million followers as well as of Sky City’s management team. The casino was quick to respond by posting “So sorry to hear @lewishamilton didn’t have a good time with us last night. We pride ourselves on being good hosts – we’re following up with him.”

Even though his first Tweet was pretty harsh and warned players to avoid the Auckland casino where he had the “worst experience ever,” Hamilton later wrote on Instagram “Thank you for having me Auckland even though it was way too short, I’ll be back tho!” Many wondered what caused one of the world’s most famous F1 drivers to change his opinion so quickly.

Well, turns out that he had broken the dress code of the establishment by refusing to take of his hat and sunglasses; the rule exists for security and gambling reasons only and it’s something that all visitors have to do if they want to enter the casino. Hamilton was obviously offended because the staff insisted on following the usual customer service protocol and refused to bend the rules for him.

We can understand that this was really hard for the F1 champion, who is known for wearing a Mercedes-Benz branded hat and trendy sunglasses almost everywhere he goes.

Sky City Casino in Auckland is a popular gambling destination that features over 100 table games and lots of fan favourite slot machines. The facility is equipped with restaurants, bars and two hotel buildings where visitors can stay and experience everything this operator has to offer.
