888 Casino Gives $50,000 Donation to Medical Charity in UK

888 Casino has pledged a $50,000 donation for Christmas to the International Medical Corps, a charity in the United Kingdom that offers health services in various parts throughout the world that are affected by disease, conflict or natural disaster. 888 Casino has been supporting the organization since 2013 and it is one of the founders of the Frontline Network.

The charity has been recently active in the refugee crisis and supported the Syrian refugees; it helped Ebola patients in West Africa and supported the Philippine people affected by Haiyan. With the donation from 888 Casino the charity will build up its Further and Faster fund enabling it to help immediately in situations of crisis rather than spending time to raise money first.

The global marketing director at 888 Casino, Sivan Finn, commented on the donation: “We indeed hope that the money will help International Medical Corps UK to relieve the suffering to the people affected by war and natural disasters by providing efficient and fast health services.”

A spokesperson at International Medical Corps was very thankful for the donation and said that with the money staff from the charity can stay longer in places and train local people to build health care systems. He pointed out that speed saves lives in a case of emergency and the first couple of hours are very critical. The fund will most definitely be used in such scenarios.

According to the director of communications and development at International Medical Corps UK, Kerry-Jane Kingsmill, every year almost 250 million people are affected by natural disasters such as floods and droughts and even more people are forced to leave their homes due to conflict and war.
