10 Largest Casinos in the World Located in Asia

Asia has surpassed even Las Vegas when it comes to the size of their casinos. According to Business Wire’s July 14, 2015 news release, Asia has 60% of the world’s population and 10 of the largest casinos in the world. They might have a limited area to gamble such as Macau, Singapore, and South Korea, but they are gaining as a place to gamble. The largest locations are located in Macau and Singapore, with smaller options in South Korea. Gambling may also be coming to Japan if new laws are passed this year. Asia has even beat Australia and Isle of Man. Global Betting and Gaming Consultancy is the biggest location on the Isle of Man, yet Asia still has ten larger locations.

The casinos include: Galaxy Macau, SJM Grand Lisboa, City of Dreams, Wynn Macau, Venetian Macao, MGM Macau, Star World, Sands Cotai, Marina Bay Sands, and Resorts World Sentosa. The last two casinos are located in Singapore, while the rest are in Macau. All Macau locations are still reporting $2.5 to $5.85 billion USD in revenue for 2014. The two Singapore locations are $2.5 and $1.76 billion, respectively.

The revenue is still sustainable despite the trouble Macau has recently faced. In comparison Crown Melbourne made $1.47 billion in the same time period. The top casino in Las Vegas is Wynn, which reported $.69 billion. The Las Vegas comparison is less than fair since Las Vegas has a mixture of products that include entertainment, beverages, and food, which means there is a 55% entertainment and 45% gaming split. If the entire amount was added up Las Vegas resorts may come out on top.

Despite having the biggest revenue and casinos in terms of size, the US still has the largest casino market in the world. This is based on the fact that about 39 states have casinos and 20 of those states have large stand alone casinos.
