UK Gambling Commission Publishes First List of Dispute Solvers

The UK Gambling Commission has finally published its first list of companies that have been approved to act as Alternate Dispute Resolution for Consumer Disputes bodies. The list is part of the Competent Authorities and Information Regulation 2015 released by the Commission.

Not surprisingly, the list features the popular eCOGRA, which is an independent auditor and player protection organisation. eCOGRA is based in London and it has been active in the online gambling industry since 2003.

However, this list is not final and the UK Gambling Commission has highlighted the fact that applications by interested parties are still being accepted. If any of the applicants proves successful and suitable for approval, it will be added to the list.

The regulations, among other things, specify the requirements organisations have to meet in order to be included in the approved ADR list. All crucial information can be found on the UK Gambling Commission website, alongside other helpful and important guidelines.

With the new regulations published and approved, licensed gambling operators are required to collaborate with at least one of the ADR entities included on the list by 31st of August, 2015. Both the ADR entities and the gambling operators must meet all requirements listed in the ADR Regulations by 1st of October, 2015.

However, this shouldn’t be much of a problem for well established online gambling operators that already meet high standards and are certified by organisations found on the list. For example, 888 Casino is one of the online gaming destinations that are licensed by the UK Gambling Commission and hold the eCOGRA seal of approval. On the other hand, some less popular gambling operators might have to hurry up in order to succeed meeting the requirements within the given timeframe.
