Forbes 100 Richest Tech Billionaires List Includes Gambling Tycoons

The magazine Forbes is widely known for its lists of the world’s wealthiest people and its latest release set public’s eyes on the 100 Richest Billionaires from Around the Globe for 2015. Amusingly, this list includes some popular names connected to the gambling industry in one way or another.

Denise Coates, one of the key people at Bet365, was placed 71st on the list. Coates was one of the seven women in total whose names were mentioned by Forbes. Being part of Bet365, one of UK’s most popular bookmakers and owner of the well-established Bet365 Casino, she made a fortune of $2.9 billion. John Coates, Denise’s brother who has a far smaller stake in the family business, never made the list even though he is a billionaire himself.

A bit higher on Forbes Richest Tech Billionaires List is positioned Teddy Sagi. His name is well known in the industry since he is the founder of giant software provider company Playtech.  The 43-year-old billionaire Sagi’s worth is estimated to be impressive $3.3 billion. Another name closely related to the online gambling industry is Mark Scheinberg. He is known as the person behind Rational Group’s PokerStars and Full Tilt. His fortune of $4.1 billion earned him the 56th place on the amusing list.

In order to complete the list the magazine used stock prices from 31st of July and excluded telecom and media in the definition of technology. As a result, Forbes Tech Rich List includes names that are somehow connected to social media, online gambling, hardware, software and high-tech manufacturing.

Some interesting facts revealed by the list show that the youngest billionaire has only 25 years and he is the owner of Snapchat – Evan Spiegel. Also, 94 out of 100 in total are self-made billionaires whereas three expanded inheritances and three inherited their wealth.
