World Record Win of $12 Million in Baccarat Tournament

A huge grand prize of HKD100 million or $12,890,500 / £8,565,880 ensured the World Series Baccarat Championship which are sponsored and organized by the Suncity Group, a junket operator, at the Sheraton Macao Hotel earlier this month.

The luck-based casino game of baccarat lived up to its name when a card king from Hong Kong set the world record of the biggest ever individual prize won in a baccarat tournament. The baccarat pro is called Lin Haisan and he scooped the amazing prize. In addition, the event also set another world record for the largest prize pool in a baccarat tournament at $119,000,000 Hong Kong dollars or $15,339,600 / £10,193,400. Guinness observers are about to confirm these two records that will be featured in the annual book of Guinness World Records.

The baccarat tournament organized by the Suncity Group was held over two qualifying matches: one in Australia at the Crowne Plaza Melbourne and another one at the Sands China’s Venetian in Macao. Afterwards, two stage semi final events followed with the final event taking place at the Sheraton in Macao.

Moreover, baccarat pro Lin Haisan wasn’t the only winner at the final showdown of the event. The Suncity Group also made its contribution to the future of Macao by donating 1 million Hong Kong dollars to the charity organization Tung Sin Tong Charitable Society and the association Cradle of Hope. This way the group showed their support for the social services these organizations do for the needy.
