eCOGRA Offers Free Gambling Dispute Service to British Players

British players who are gambling at sites regulated by the reputable UK Gambling Commission now have a very convenient facility in case they have an unsolvable dispute with their operator. There have been countless times when a player and a gambling operator couldn’t resolve a dispute by themselves and therefore eCOGRA decided to offer a free dispute resolution service.

eCOGRA is a London-based independent testing agency which has been authorised by the UK Gambling Commission to operate as an Alternative Dispute Resolution service provider. Those who are not familiar with the UK Gambling Commission, it is the legal body that oversees, regulates and licenses all online gambling operators that serve the British players.

Experienced gamblers are well aware of eCOGRA, which has been part of the iGaming industry for the past 12 years. The agency is best known for monitoring player treatment and setting high operational standards. Additionally, eCOGRA has been acting as a mediator in issues between operators and players.

The free dispute resolution system is headed by a Clear ADR Accredited Civil and Commercial mediator, Tex Rees, who has been involved in the resolution of over 8,000 disputes. Andrew Beveridge, eCOGRA chief executive, said that 355 sites licensed in the UK have already elected to use the service. Some of the operators include popular names such as bwin.party, 888, Unibet, Betway and etc.

Beveridge also added: “eCOGRA has developed a sophisticated software system to help manage and expedite the resolution of disputes with UKGC-licensed operators” and pointed out that the system would help most of the disputes to be resolved within 72 hours.

Tex Rees was another person to comment on the system explaining that they included ADR in their service offering because they “know how important it is to players to have an impartial mediator handling their issues with operators.”
