UK Gambling Commission Publishes Revisions of LCCP

The reputable British Gambling Commission published several social responsibility revisions to the Licence Conditions and Codes of Practice (LCCP). The revisions were published this week and their main target is protection of players against problem gambling within online gambling sectors as well as land-based sectors.

What is new and important to online gambling operators are the significantly strict licensing conditions and codes of practice. Also, the online sector will have to implement a one-click exclusion facility during 2017. This facility is seen as a tool of preventing problem gambling and its negative effects.

Another change that has to be implemented is the time-out facility. However, this facility has to be available much sooner than the one-click self exclusion and by the 31st of October, 2015. Additionally, all players will have to have the option to track the money and time spent gambling during each and every session.

One of the most interesting changes and revisions are found in the marketing sections whose main point of interests are free bets, various casino bonus offers and promotions as well as the way they are advertised and presented to customers.

For example, the socially responsible marketing and advertising revisions highlights that the marketing of any free bet offers has to be open, transparent and it cannot include misleading information. Furthermore, it is said that the significant limitations and qualification of bonus offers and promotions cannot contradict the claims that they qualify.

Some other revisions apply to casino promotions that last only for a set period of time. These promotions have to include as much information as possible and they also cannot contain misleading details that could confuse players.

Finally, according to the socially responsible revisions of the LCCP, all significant conditions and terms connected to a particular offer cannot be more than a single click away of the advertisement.
