Atlantic City’s Oldest Casino to Launch Real Money Casino Games

Resorts, the Atlantic City casino that had the smallest amount of revenues last year, announced that its online gambling venture will be launched this month. The step shows that the oldest Atlantic City casino has no intentions of giving up, but quite the contrary.

This move will probably give Resorts a financial boost and also it will make it the fifth casino located in Atlantic City to offer Internet gambling. The first four casinos that launched their own gambling sites are Caesars, Golden Nugget, Tropicana and Borgata.

According to the reports, Resorts very soon will start offering its customers the possibility to play high quality slots and table games powered by an industry leader Sportech NYX Gaming LLC. The exact date was not announced, but this will most definitely happen by the end of February.

The casino in January managed to earn $11 million, which is the worst result among other Atlantic City casinos. However, this number is an improvement in comparison with the $8.2 million won in January 2013. Last year Resorts reported revenues of $139.3 million.

The casino that earned the most money in 2014 was Borgata with $687 million, whereas the Golden Nugget had revenues bigger for $45 million than those of Resort and it’s the second worst earning casino in Atlantic City.

However, it must be noted that online gambling hasn’t been the success many expected it to be. Gov. Chris Christie administration projected revenues of $1 billion before iGaming was legalised. Nevertheless, Atlantic City casino’s gambling sites in January earned $11.5 million up from $10.7 million in December.

Therefore, all Resorts can do is hope that its website will attract many players. Currently, interested customers can try the games for free during the one-week test period offered at Resorts Casino’s gambling site.
