De Niro, DiCaprio, Pitt and Scorsese in Casino Ad

Who have ever believed that the reason why Robert De Niro, Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt and Martin Scorsese will work together on a same project would be a casino advertisement? City of Dreams Casino in Manila and Studio City Casino in Macau hired these famous people to be their new faces for a total cost of unbelievable $70 million.

According to leaked information in some newspapers, all of the four celebrities received $13 million each in order to work on one of the most expensive commercials for a casino. The teaser that was recently released shows De Niro and DiCaprio travelling to Studio City in Macau and then fight for the same movie role. The film in the plot is, obviously, directed by Scorsese. Pitt doesn’t act in the teaser, but it is expected to join the crew in the third trailer.

Both of the casinos in the “film” are owned by James Packer who is a well known Australian mogul and Lawrence Ho’s company Melco Crown Entertainment. Money didn’t seem to be a problem for the billionaires whose advertising project already costs $1,124.1 million.

Ho explained why the team decided to hire some of the Hollywood’s most popular men to promote gambling operators in Asia. He said that this project would take the entertainment-inspired leisure destination to new levels “in a cinematic setting developed in partnership with the world’s leading entertainment brands, supported and endorsed by many of the legends of Hollywood.”

This ad is, in fact, a trailer for the short film “The Audition” which will be groundbreaking for so many reasons. First, it is the first film to star these legendary actors and second because there is no similar casino project. All that players around the world can do now is wait for the full film to be released and hope to see many other advertisements like this.
