Would you agree with someone who tells you that women are better gamblers than men? You do not really have to agree, since this is exactly what the numbers in Smart Live Gaming Iconographic prove.
Gambling was always one of the hottest topics; however, it has never really been researched in terms of who gambles the most, who is the most successful at gambling or where most of the gamblers live. Smart Live Gaming decided that it is time for that kind of research; therefore it classified and analysed gamblers in the UK according to their age, sex and location.
The results of the categories “% of spend per city” and “% of players per city” are, not surprisingly, very similar. Hence, the biggest number of casino players comes from London (28%), Birmingham (14%) and Manchester (10%).
Similarly, the first three places of biggest spenders per city belong to the same cities. The results are the following: London 36%, Birmingham 16% and Manchester 7%. In both of the categories Liverpool is in the last place with 5% of players per city and 4% of money spent per city. According to Smart Live Gaming Iconographic, the most players are from 20 to 29 years old.
However, the most interesting results were connected to the players’ sex. The iconographic showed that women are superior in gambling. Even though 86% of the UK gamblers are male and only 14% are female, women are 5% better than men in terms of winnings.
Some of the reasons for these results are seen in the type of games that men and women decide to play. Unlike women, who prefer slots and video poker, men usually play games such as blackjack and poker that are highly competitive and tempting.
