Former Roulette Dealer Accused of Conspiracy

A former roulette dealer at Pennsylvania’s Meadows Casino, Robert Valle, is accused of conspiracy and is facing criminal charges for allegedly telling a customer that his lucky roulette number is four and that he would try to hit that number for the customer.

According to experts, it is not possible to guide a roulette wheel that way, but Valle and his colleagues from work says that his response to the customer was merely standard customer support service that you can find at almost every land based casino in the United States.

Interesting to note and that might help Valle is that no one who works at the casino thinks the dealer did anything wrong, including supervisors.

The pit manager at Meadows Casino, Danny Gillies, thinks that this situation is going to affect how regulations treat casino employees in the gambling industry. “If they win the case they would soon come after us for anything whenever they want,” he told to a news site.

In his defense, Valle told that it was his job as a customer service to tell customers what they want to know. “If somebody asks me what my lucky roulette number is, I’m supposed to answer the question. It’s not good to tell them to go to another casino because they will hit his number. Instead I can try and hit his lucky number, but there is no guarantee,” said Valle.

Valle was offered a plea deal but he refused it because it would result in him losing his working casino license. He is currently helped by fundraisers that help him pay for his legal costs.
