Armed Robbery at Caesars Atlantic City

According to news reports, an armed robbery took place inside Caesars Atlantic City on Monday 21, 2014. Apparently two masked men raided the casino with a pair of firearms.

The two suspects made their way through the poker room around 6 am and walked onto the casino floor when at least one of them pulled out a gun before grabbing two plastic cash boxes. Then they fled with a car. The New Jersey State Police Gaming Bureau is still investigating and noted that the robbery happened within the casino not the hotel sector.

Reportedly, the armed robbery cost the casino exactly $181,200 and the police is now looking for the two thieves responsible for the heist. The security staff could not catch and hold the two men, therefore, the police is currently relaying on the CCTV footage of the armed robbery. The New Jersey State Police Gaming Bureau is also asking witness to come forward with useful information about the incident.

This is not the first casino robbery in Atlantic City. One of the most daring heists took place at EPT Berlin when a man with a gun entered the venue and took the safe containing the prize pool of the tournament. Luckily, the man was caught and sentenced to time in prison.

In Atlantic City, things cannot get much worse than they are. There is a current crisis for local casinos that have seen their revenue declining for the past eight years. Revel Casino has again entered bankruptcy, while Trump Plaza and the Showboat are planning to shut down by the end of August.
