New Entertainment and Gaming Venture at Hippodrome Casino

UK-based Hippodrome Casino has announced that it will open a new Las Vegas-style casino gaming and entertainment venture named Lola’s Underground Casino in Leicester Square in London. According to the owners of the Hippodrome, the venture is expected to raise the demand for casino gaming in London’s West End and it will be the first casino to offer both gaming and entertainment on one UK casino floor.

“There has been a rise in the number of visitors since we opened two years ago which demonstrates the demand of a new style UK casino in London,” said Hippodrome owner Simon Thomas. “Therefore, we want to open a casino that closely resembles what Vegas offers- both gambling and entertainment on the same floor. We want to bring to life the vision of the Gambling Act of 2005 that allows us to offer a much more rounded entertainment experience.”

Lola’s Underground Casino will have dancing girls sited next to the blackjack and roulette tables and there will also be a gin palace as well as bar with a barber shop. The casino will be sited on the lower ground floor of the Hippodrome.

The name of the casino is inspired by Lola McGuire who was popular chorus girl famous for organizing drinking parties and card games. “We named our casino according to Lola McGuire who is an amazing performer as well as an Edwardian entrepreneur,” added Simon Thomas. “We thought that she would give us the seductive raciness we need for space at the Hippodrome where she had spent her time organizing gambling events, lending money through her own makeshift bank and running the gin cellar bar.”
