Theme and basic information
Play’n GO can do generic and they can do unique when it comes to slot themes. They’re much better at the latter, to be honest. When they do come up with something unique, it usually gets our attention and those are among the best slots produced by the developer.
That’s true for Cash Vandal as well. The premise: graffiti art around Europe. The reel symbols all look like awesome graffiti and the cityscape in the background changes depending in which city you are: London, Paris or Berlin. Mind you, they gave each city a distinct character and a major feature of each city shows up as you travel along the metro lines, but anyone who knows either of the three cities knows that the skylines you see are not accurate depictions. But that’s a minor detail, if you want to go splitting hairs.
Visually, the slot is extremely well done, and we absolutely love the look of it. You get diamonds, gold bars, wads of cash as the high-value symbols. They pay out 10x, 4x and 2.5x your stake for 4 on a payline. The remaining symbols are cool-looking oranges, melons, cherries, blueberries and raspberries. They’re each worth 1x or 1.2x your stake for four of a kind.

Random features in three cities
In Cash Vandals you get to visit three different cities. And each city comes with its own special feature.
Whenever you land a golden spray can scatter on reel 4, a re-spin is triggered. That should hopefully land you further scatters on the other reels. With one additional red spray paint scatter you’ll get one free spin with the feature of the city you’re in as well as a stack of wilds on reel 4. The features are:
- Berlin – 2 to 3 random wilds are added to reels 1, 2 and/or 3
- London – 2 to 9 mystery symbols are added to reels 1, 2 and 3; once the reels stop spinning, one symbol is revealed behind the mystery symbols
- Paris – reels 1 and 2 are synced, giving you a 2×2 mega symbol here
You’ll switch cities more or less at random and fairly often.
Choose your poison in the free spins
The golden spray can on reel 4 and 2 red spray cans anywhere else on the reels will activate 5 free spins. If you get 3 red spray cans and the golden one, you’ll get 10 free spins.
Now you get to choose which feature you want active on each spin: Berlin, London or Paris. Depending on the city you pick, the respective feature will be active on every spin.
Unfortunately, free spins cannot be re-triggered, but you’ll get them about once every 100 spins anyway, so that’s okay.
Conclusion: Unique, volatile and absolutely entertaining
The theoretical RTP (Return to Player) for Cash Vandal is 96.47%, which is above average and good value. The slot is very volatile, mind you, and good wins will be rare. You can usually score decent wins when one of the features hits and in our experience, they hit reasonably often. We had good results in Berlin and Paris with their respective features.
And when you activate the free spins, you’ll probably choose the different cities once each at least to figure out what works best for you. It’s difficult to make a recommendation here and honestly, we liked the game enough to play long enough to try each option for the free spins.
Overall, Cash Vandal is definitely unique and surprisingly entertaining. We didn’t get bored for a long time and had lots of fun exploring the different cities. We had no expectations when we tried out this game and we were pleasantly surprised.
