15 NetEnt Titles to be removed

Sometimes slot titles vanish quietly without so much as an announcement. Sometimes we are aware. NetEnt is about to expire 15 titles that you won’t get to play again.

End of life for 15 NetEnt slots

With so many new slot titles added to online casinos all the time, it’s easy to forget older games that you may have enjoyed once upon a time. Such games may have been favourites once but are no longer played. That’s hardly surprising because it is impossible to play all the games all the time.

And whilst some slots simply get removed a lot of the time and you won’t be able to play them anymore, NetEnt has actually made an official announcement about the removal of 15 of their games.

The decision has been taken to move a number of low-performing games to the end-of-life list. These games should be disabled in all casinos on the 26th of November 2020, and will not be supported by the upcoming iOS14 version.

So, which games are we talking about?

  • Bollywood Story, Hook’s Heroes, Copy Cats, Flowers Christmas Edition, Universal Monsters™ The Phantom’s Curse, Berryburst MAX, Sparks, Swipe and Roll, Witchcraft Academy Spellcast, Twin Spin DeLuxe, Go Bananas!, Theme park: Tickets of Fortune, Magic Portals and Lucky Angler: A Snowy Catch

Reasons behind the removal

Well, NetEnt obviously considers these games low performing as they have mentioned. But why is that? Some of these games have been around for years and are simply no longer up to the current standards. Other games are not old at all, such as Berryburst Max, Swipe and Roll or Go Bananas!.

Clearly, however, these games have become obsolete. And maybe they were never strong performers to begin with. Sparks is certainly one of the most boring games we know of and Swipe and Roll also missed the mark.

Sometimes it’s better to focus on what works and remove the things that don’t work. It’s a lesson learned not just for NetEnt but other developers as well.

There are new games in the pipeline anyway and Twin Spin Deluxe, which was a huge failure anyway, will soon be replaced by Twin Spin Megaways, sure to be a success if done right.
