ShadowBet ShadowBet

ShadowBet Casino Review

Apparently, ShadowBet is a mysterious place. Only the chosen know about it… and anyone who reads this or has ever heard of the MT SecureTrade Ltd property. Obviously, no online casino wants to be truly secretive and exclusive. They want customers that play there. That is true of ShadowBet as well, but at least they make it a little more interesting than most.

Here you are among the chosen few, however many ‘few’ there actually are, and you’re treated as unique, even exceptional. Whether you end up feeling that way depends on the experience you have at ShadowBet. And whether you should check the casino out or not is something you’ll find out by reading our experiences with it.

MT SecureTrade Ltd is a well-known and well-established operator, also behind such casinos as Cashmio, Dunder, Mobil6000, Rizk or Guts.com. You’ll have heard of some of them, we’ve reviewed all of them. And we can tell you that MT SecureTrade Ltd usually know what they are doing, and they tend to do it well.

All their casinos are different, all aim for a different clientele, featuring different themes or premises, making them unique and interesting. You can play at two different casinos operated by them and hardly realize that they are same company behind those casinos.

ShadowBet likes to keep a little mystery to the game. The boss, Jack Pot (perhaps not the most original name), lurks in the shadows and only offers benefits to those who manage to discover his casino and are extraordinary enough to stick around.

Why would you want to do that? Here are a few reasons:

  • 200 bonus spins with your 1st deposit
  • Over 800 games from great providers
  • Regular promotions
  • MGA and UKGC licensed
  • Safe and secure operator
  • Live and mobile casino

A welcome package straight from the shadows

Jack Pot himself is responsible for the welcome package UK players get to enjoy. It comes, presumably, straight from the shadows and you will get to claim 100% on your first deposit and up to £100. But there is more to it than that.

You are invited to join the mysterious world of ShadowBet and play the Ancient Ouroboros slot to win bonus spins without even making your first deposit. Then you can still make a deposit and claim the 100% match bonus or up to £100. And finally, you will receive 200 casinos spins (20 each day for 10 days), which can be used on The Invisible Man and three other games from NetEnt and are completely wagering free.

You will need to wager the deposit and bonus funds 35 times before a withdrawal is possible. The bonus only expires 100 days after activation, however, so you have an unusual amount of time to meet those wagering requirements.

Slots and jackpot games contribute 100% to the wagering requirements (though some slots are excluded entirely). Table games and live casino games don’t contribute at all and ‘other games’ still contribute 50%.

The terms and conditions are outlined clearly and quite comprehensive. Finally, you should be aware that players in the UK that deposit using Neteller or Skrill won’t be eligible to claim the welcome bonus.

Over 800 games from the best providers

From its sister casinos you already know the kind of portfolio MT SecureTrade Ltd likes to boast with. ShadowBet is really no different here and easily provides more than 800 games to its customers. They work with some of the best and most popular game developers in the industry, which makes for an impressive portfolio.

You’ll be able to find games from NetEnt, Microgaming, BetSoft, Play’n GO, Thunderkick, ELK Studios, Quickspin, Red Tiger Gaming, edict gaming, NYX Interactive, IGT, Scientific Games, Yggdrasil Gaming and Genii here. And that’s not even the end of it.

Plenty of fantastic slot games can be found at ShadowBet, whether the titles are favourite classics or brand new, you’re surely going to enjoy plenty of fun here. Check out Volcano Riches, Asgardian Stones, The Alchemist’s Gold, Volcano, Spina Colada, Ho Ho Tower, Terminator 2, Jurassic World, Gold Lab, Sakura Fortune, 7 Sins, Vikings Go Berzerk and many more.

Then there are the table games. Here you’ll find plenty of Blackjack, Roulette and Baccarat, but also Video Poker, Pontoon, Casino Poker such as Triple Pocket Hold’em Poker or Double Bonus Poker or games such as Sharp Shooter.

More games are in the ‘other games’ section available, though you’ll only be able to access the complete portfolio at ShadowBet once you’ve created and account and are logged in.

A small live casino

Clearly, ShadowBet only provides live games as an afterthought or added distraction from the multitude of slots on offer. The live casino is powered by Evolution Gaming, but it isn’t very extensive regardless. Here you’ll find mostly various version of Roulette featured, a few Blackjack games, a little Baccarat and Ultimate Texas Hold’em. That’s about it.

It’s enough for most casual visitors of live casinos and a lot less than we often get at other MT SecureTrade Ltd casinos. You may even want to consider a different casino from their portfolio, if you’re after a stronger live gaming option.

A unique selection of jackpots

ShadowBet mostly features jackpots from Microgaming, NetEnt and Betsoft. But dig a little deeper and you may find more than what’s showcased under the ‘jackpots’ tab.

Of course, among the life-changing progressive jackpots you’ll find:

  • Mega Moolah and Mega Moolah Isis
  • Arabian Nights
  • Mega Glam Life

Strangely absent, however, are Mega Fortune or Hall of Gods from NetEnt. Or you really have to login in order to access all available jackpots. You will also be able to find Ozwin’s Jackpots from Yggdrasil Gaming, but none of their other jackpot games. The selection is unique and almost a little strange. Though perhaps once you’re logged in more games become available. We do also have to consider that not all games are available in all regions, so you may not be able to play the entire selection anyway.

No jackpots

A somewhat limited customer service

Generally speaking, MT SecureTrade Ltd has been around long enough and is experienced enough to know what their customers need and to be able to provide accordingly. Great customer service is often among those needs and we find it at many of their online casinos. ShadowBet ist certainly not lacking in that area, on the whole anyway. The team is friendly, competent and readily available via live chat.

But at ShadowBet the opening times of the live chat are limited. You can reach the team from Monday to Friday between 7am and 9pm. On the weekends between 9am and 5pm. Considering that most players tend to play in the evening, after work and all the day’s chores are done, these opening times are not exactly customer friendly.

We would really expect more, and it may not always be sufficient to simply send an email outside of those availabilities and wait for a reply for however many hours.

Whilst plenty of information can be found on the homepage, there is no dedicated FAQ section either, which means you may want to contact customer service sooner rather than later anyway.

Doubly licensed and RNG certified

We have already noted that MT SecureTrade Ltd is a well-established and regarded operator of online casinos. They are licensed through the Malta Gaming Authority and the UK Gambling Commission. The latter is of particular importance, as there’s hardly a stricter gambling jurisdiction that the UKGC.

As such we would consider ShadowBet a safe option for you to play at. Keep in mind, that the casino may still be relatively new, but we’ve not heard anything about any major outstanding complaints either. And the casino even provides a separate link for complaints, telling you who to contact in case of dispute.

The casino also displays the RNG certificate, which means all their games are independently tested for randomness and fairness.

All important payment methods are there

Thankfully, all available payment options are handily listed in their own section on the homepage. Click on ‘Payment Methods’ and you’ll learn all you need to know about deposits and withdrawals, available options, transaction times and applicable fees.

Among the deposit methods you can choose from Visa and MasterCard, paysafecard, Neteller, Skrill, Euteller and ecoPayz. All options don’t incur additional fees and are instant when it comes to make a deposit.

For withdrawals you may use Visa, Skrill, MasterCard, Neteller, ecoPayz, bank transfer and apparently paysafecard as well.

Maximum withdrawals at one time are £5,000, with the exception of progressive jackpot wins. No other limits appear to have been put in place, but if you are in doubt, contact customer service regardless.

No RTP information published

On the downside we were unable to locate any RTP information at the casino. Well, besides the RTP number published by the developers inside most of the games available at the casino. But the overall payout rate of what players usually win back here is unknown to us.

It is strange considering that the UKGC makes it a requirement for their licensees to publish their RTP numbers. It does not appear as if the UKGC would pursue the matter as we’ve seen many of their licensed casinos without publicly available RTP numbers.

Dark, mysterious and stylish

The ShadowBet website is surrounded by an air of mystery. To a degree anyway. The colours are dark, with black dominating. Though the highlights are golden orange or a dark yellow, depending on how you wish to look at it. Graphics a crisp and clean and in a few areas the background remains light to provide a backdrop for game icons and such things.

Whether you will really find the site mysterious or exclusive is up to you. It’s stylish and modern, though and we quite like that.

The layout is intuitive and the navigation straightforward enough. You will easily find your way around the casino and if the information you’re looking for isn’t available at first glance, it may not be available at all, because nothing is more than a click away here. In such a case you’ll have to contact customer service anyway.

A great mobile experience

MT SecureTrade Ltd never neglect their mobile players. That is true for all their casinos and it remains so for ShadowBet as well. Here you will access a stylish, small-screen version of the homepage via your mobile device and have everything handily available with a majority of games at your disposal on the go.

We really do like how well the design translates to the small screen and find it appealing. Games load smoothly, promotions are also readily available, and you can sign up or simply login mobile, if you already have an account.

ShadowBet is definitely suitable for mobile players as well as those who prefer to play at home on their computer.

Ouroboros and regular promotions

Ouroboros are a kind of rewards scheme at ShadowBet. It’s a little difficult to classify, because you apparently only play this game Ancient Ouroboros and can win extra spins or even cash by doing so and levelling as you keep playing and earning rewards. Whenever you level up, Ouroboros are activated and you can win. You can even double your winnings (or lose them all) by placing an extra bet on ‘sun’ or ‘moon’.

Also, occasionally there may be extra promotions for extra Ouroboros to collect and level up more quickly.

Beyond that you can visit the promotions page and check out current or ongoing promotions at the casino. There’s a happy hour on Wednesday for extra spins for all active players. And the most recent special promotion was about St. Patrick’s Day and extra spins to be collected there. In fact, a lot of the promotions seem to once again dish out extra spins, once more affirming the sites focus on slots and spins rather than table or live games.

A VIP scheme is not currently part of the offering.

Conclusion: Not quite so mysterious, but definitely safe, secure and good fun

We’re honestly not convinced about the whole mystery and secrecy premise that ShadowBet wants to portray. It could be much better executed and truly captivate players. But instead it seems like a half-baked idea and for once we’re not sure that MT SecureTrade Ltd are entirely behind their idea. They have lots of awesome casinos that come with interesting themes that are a lot better executed than ShadowBet.

That doesn’t mean this casino isn’t a safe or fun choice. Indeed, if you don’t like the bright and quirky kind of casino that’s also available out there, you might want to go with something a little more understated and serious, such as ShadowBet. You will find plenty of awesome games here, some interesting promotions and a rewards scheme that is unlike anything else we’ve seen.

The casino is well regulated and whilst we’re not sure that it really is as exceptional as it wants to be, it is certainly a solid choice and safe place for you to play at.
