RealTime Gaming Casino List

As it is, none of our reviewed online casinos are RTG casinos. The mixed reputation their casinos have enjoyed or perhaps suffered through the years means that there are few RTG-powered online casinos that can be wholeheartedly recommended. Another issue might be that RTG casinos are not necessarily licensed in Europe, meaning they are not available to European players anyway. And player protection cannot be adequately ensure either.

About RealTime Gaming

RealTime Gaming was founded in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1998. That means the company is celebrating their 20th birthday next year. Since the beginning RTG has been known to supply their games to just about anyone, which is how they became very widely available. The company, originally US-based, remained one of the few that offered their games to US customers even after the passing of the “Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act” in 2006.

But eventually they moved all production to Costa Rica in 2007. Unfortunately at the same time and even earlier, RTG’s reputation suffered a lot when Warren Cloud joined the company. Several RTG casinos were declared rogue and things only changed after the company was bought by Hastings International, itself owned by the HBM Group, which is located in Curacao. When Cloud died of a heart attack in 2008 that unhealthy relationship ended as well and RTG began to work on improving its reputation, which it has done to a good degree.

RTG Games

RealTime Gaming boasts quite the portfolio. At the time of writing the company has developed over 300 games, many of which are slots, but they also boast a very diverse range of games.

Slots

A large number of RTG games are, of course, slots. They have over 200 right now and that does speak to how long the company has been in business. Plus, new games are released regularly.

Looking at some of their games, it’s obvious that RTG is not quite as sophisticated as some of their competitors. The gameplay, mechanics, graphics and bonus games are simpler especially in older games, though some of the newer RTG games manage to hold their own. Among those you’ll find Bubble Bubble, Super 6, The Big Bopper or Zhanshi.

Table Games

As it is, you won’t actually find a large selection of games on the RTG website. If you were to visit it, you’d easily be under the impression that they hardly offer any games at all, unless you pay attention to the fact that they do mention how many games they currently have.

Among them is a really good range of table games as well. You can find different roulette, blackjack and baccarat versions, casino poker games such as Casino Hold’em, Red Dog or Pai Gow and then there is Craps and Sic Bo as well.

Video Poker and other games

RTG has made quite a few video poker games over the years and here their selection is pretty outstanding. You can find over a dozen different video poker games, some of which allow you to play up to 100 hands at the same time.

Additionally RTG also offers Keno, Bingo and scratch cards to their players, making for a varied portfolio, which you can find at most RTG online casinos.

RTG Progressive Jackpots

Whilst RTG progressive jackpots aren’t very well known, they actually do happen to be a specialty of the developer. Two progressive jackpots you can get from RTG are Megasaur and Spirit of the Inca. They can win you over $1 million.

But beyond that RTG offers dozens of other games that can be requested by online casinos as progressive jackpot games. The experience is specifically tailored to an online casino’s requests and means that every RTG casino could theoretically offer its own set of progressive jackpots. Whilst those never climb to live changing amounts, they are not overly difficult to play or win and you can, in fact, still win healthy sums on those games.

Live Casino

RealTime Gaming does offer a live casino experience as well. Their Live Dealer experience is offered to casinos and promises high performance video feeds with friendly and attractive dealers that will allow players to engage in Vegas quality gambling experiences.

The company offers the usual range of live casino tables, including roulette, blackjack, baccarat and casino poker.

Playing mobile

The developer is aiming for a high quality multi-channel delivery. Once upon a time RTG was known as a download-only iGaming developer. But that has long changed and they offer in-browser gaming solutions as well.

Having recognised a need for mobile gambling and the desire for players to play anywhere and anytime, they have made the development of mobiles games a priority. All the favourite games RTG offers are nowadays mobile compatible and new releases can be played mobile right away. Older games are not available for mobile play, however.

Safety and security

Unfortunately this subject has been a bit of an issue with RTG casinos. One of the main problems has been for a long time that RealTime Gaming has licensed their games to just about any casino that wanted them. That way many rogue casinos ended up with RTG games, which ended up giving RTG a bad reputation.

For several years now RTG has aimed to rebuild player relations, but there are still quite a few online casinos that are considered rogue that use their software.

Additionally, almost all RTG-powered online casinos are only licensed in Curacao, which makes these casinos somewhat unsuitable for European players. Whilst some of these casinos do have good reputations and can be considered safe, we prefer European licenses, because we know how reliable those are.

This is definitely still an area where RTG can improve and perhaps obtain some European licenses of its own.

RTG News

Thankfully the news we tend to hear about RTG are usually positive. Often we learn about new game releases from the company or new deals that were signed with online casinos. But lately the company has not been in the news with anything that we’d consider negative.

Considering how long RTG has been around, we would certainly like to be able to report that they’ve managed to obtain European gambling licenses, but we don’t even know whether they are aiming to get those.
