PlayFrank Casino Review

PlayFrank casino should not be mistaken for another casino with a very similar sounding name. This one is run by EveryMatrix Ltd N.V., who’re also behind Codeta and Yako casino as well as several others. The casino has been established in 2014, so they’ve been around for a little while now. Thus, you can expect loads of experience behind PlayFrank and a well-established operator to boot.

We’re not entirely sure where the name comes from. Perhaps we’re just invited to play frank, meaning open, forthright and honest. We’ve not met anybody named Frank behind the casino, so that might not be it.

But we have met lots of quirky little mascots. They’re light blue in colour, wearing dark blue pants. They’re similarly shaped to those yellow minions of movie fame but appear to be in the brightest mood all the time. Alas, the concept is nothing new, really. We’ve encountered similar creatures, a similar colour and design and even layout in other, somewhat better-known casinos. Still, that doesn’t mean we’re going to dismiss this one. Let’s have a close look, shall we?

PlayFrank boasts not only over 1,200 games in its library but works with some of the best game providers out there together to ensure that you always get the newest and best games once they are released. And a live casino is also part of the offering.

If you decide to sign up here, a welcome package in three parts awaits you. Alongside you’ll get 200 extra spins.

Here are some reasons why you should consider PlayFrank:

  • Over 1,200 games
  • 24/7 customer support
  • Fast payouts, no extra fees
  • Interesting loyalty reward scheme
  • Live and mobile casino

A welcome package in three parts

Whilst the welcome bonus at PlayFrank is not huge, you do get quite a few extra spins here and you can claim bonus money on your first three deposits. That is quite good and preferable over a huge bonus in one go. Here’s what you can expect:

  • First deposit: 100% bonus and up to €100 plus 50 spins on Starburst
  • Second deposit: 50% bonus and up to €200 plus another 50 spins on Starburst
  • Third deposit: Get another 100 spins on Starburst

Whenever we find free spin offers as part of the welcome package, we consider a casino especially aimed at slot fans. Given the huge number of slots available here, that would be a fair assumption as well.

The minimum amount you need to deposit to claim the bonus is €20. Bonus money needs to be wagered 35 times before a withdrawal is possible. However, winnings from free spins need to be wagered 40 times.

Any bonus funds are only available for 7 days after you received them, which is rather unfortunate as it barely allows you sufficient time to meet the wagering requirements, which are otherwise standard.

Additionally, only video slots contribute 100% to the wagering requirements, though some high RTP slots are completely excluded. Classic slots still contribute 50% and all other games, including table games, of course, don’t contribute at all.

Our verdict on the bonus is that it could be allow for a longer timeframe for the wagering requirements to be met. Otherwise there’s little unusual about it. Make sure to read all bonus terms and conditions before signing up, of course.

More than 1,200 games from great providers

With a focus on slots, most of the library at PlayFrank consists of slot games. That’s hardly unusual, as most online casinos feature slots more than any other game category, even when they do profess to aim at a different clientele.

Regardless, you can look forward to an extensive library here, which is always welcome and means you’ll be playing for a long time before repeating yourself, if you so choose.

Over 1,000 of the games on offer are slots and among the titles you’ll find: Rainbow Riches – Fortune Favours, Asgardian Stones, Fruit Spin, Planet Fortune, Sea Hunter, Highlander, Book of Dead, Immortal Romance, Moon Princes, Wins of Fortune, Sticky Bandits and Viking Age.

Providers featured at PlayFrank are BetSoft, Booming Games, Endorphina, Genii, Microgaming, NetEnt, NYX Interactive, Pariplay, Play’n GO, Playson, Quickspin and Williams Interactive. You can filter according to these providers as well, but there are a few others at PlayFrank such as Habanero, for instance.

You’ll also find several dozen table games at PlayFrank, not including live games, mind you. Enjoy a variety of Casino Poker games such as Oasis Poker, Texas Hold’em, Casino Stud Poker, Poker Pursuit and what have you.

Blackjack, Baccarat and Roulette are featured in a large variety of versions as well. And among other games, which you have to search for but can’t really filter through, are Keno, Bingo and a handful of scratch cards.

An Evolution Gaming live casino

The entire live casino at PlayFrank comes courtesy of Evolution Gaming, the leading provider of live tables in the industry. You can’t go wrong with Evolution Gaming and clearly, PlayFrank decided that they’d rather offer the best to their customer, whether they focus on slots otherwise or not.

And a live casino does make for a nice diversion, if you’re getting tired of those 1,000 slot games.

Expect to be able to play at various Roulette tables, Blackjack, Baccarat and Casino Poker, including Caribbean Stud and Three Card Poker. Dream Catcher is also among the games on offer.

Only a handful of jackpots

A casino that has already been around for nearly four years should have a decent offering of progressive jackpots. Alas, this is an area where PlayFrank is somewhat lacking and we have no idea why that might be so.

The big ones you’ll thankfully find here are:

  • Arabian Nights
  • Major Millions
  • King Cashalot
  • Mega Fortune
  • Hall of Gods

Mega Moolah from Microgaming is woefully missing. That’s a shame.

Among the smaller, local jackpots you’ll find Super Lucky Frog, Leprechaun Goes to Hell, Cosmic Fortune, Treasure Nile, Mega Joker and Caribbean Stud Poker.

We really wouldn’t mind seeing the library of progressive jackpots expanded on. At least you can win big jackpots here, but the overall selection isn’t very big at all.

No jackpots

Friendly Asked Questions

That’s what PlayFrank calls them anyway. Frankly Asked Questions would have been more fitting, we believe. But we’re just reviewing the casino and not designing it. At least plenty of those friendly questions have been answered, which is always quite handy.

Additionally, the live chat is available 24/7 and it is supplied in multiple languages, which is always beneficial. Email support is also available, though you won’t be able to call the customer support team. That’s not much of a problem, though, because most people prefer live chat anyway. The team is known to be very friendly indeed, helpful and competent.

Three licenses and many certificates

EveryMatrix Ltd N.V. boasts licenses from Malta, the UK and Curacao. That means they’re a well-regulated operator and their casinos, among them PlayFrank, can be considered safe. As we know, the UKGC is especially strict with its licensees, so seeing a license from the Gambling Commission always inspires confidence. Additionally, we’ve not seen major complaints against PlayFrank. And the complaints that do exist are usually due to misunderstandings of bonus terms. Another reason why we always recommend you read the terms and conditions especially carefully.

Additionally, PlayFrank appears to be trusted by quite a few other sites like ours, who regularly review casinos like we do. PlayFrank seems to be rather proud of the fact and displays many certificates of trusts.

No public RTP audit available

We do know that PlayFrank tests their games randomly and frequently and that fair gaming is a big issue for them. The casino has been around for more than three years now and thus their playership is an established one. We can therefore expect that they know their payout numbers well enough, but unfortunately, they don’t showcase them anywhere.

If there has been a publicly audited RTP review in the past, it is not available on the website. So, we don’t know what the actual payout of the casino is. Frankly (and yes, the pun is very much intended), we’re somewhat disappointed by that and would hope to see some public RTP numbers at some point.

No page for payment options

PlayFrank does not offer a dedicated page for payment options. That’s always a bit of a nuisance, because it means you have to go searching for the information that could otherwise be easily available. Here the FAQs aren’t entirely helpful either, because they mostly refer you to sections in your account, which you can only access once you’ve got one. We’d prefer that information available beforehand.

We do know that Visa, MasterCard, Skrill, Neteller, zimpler and Trustly as well as giropay and paysafecard are available for deposits. Not all of these methods will be available for withdrawals, mind you.

In the FAQ section you will learn that the maximum withdrawal per week is €10,000, though you may not withdraw more than €25,000 per month. Thankfully progressive jackpot wins are exempt from this rule, which is usually the case.

Beyond that you’ll either have to ask customer service for more details on deposits and withdrawals, or you sign up for an account and check out the cashier, which will hold all relevant information for you as well.

Quirky and fun, but not really unique

Strangely, PlayFrank’s design does remind us of a few rather similar online casinos that feature quirky little characters such as those found at PlayFrank. And here they don’t even seem to have much of a purpose either. They’re just here to add a little entertainment value, but don’t seem to have a function beyond that.

Also, the main colour to be found here is blue. That’s also fairly common and seems to have been a trend among online casino that opened up around the same time as PlayFrank. The design is playful and fun and that’s all good. But it is also a little uninspired and could be a lot more unique. Perhaps a redesign in the future will change that.

Beyond that the site is easily navigated and the layout is intuitive. PlayFrank could add a few more links with additional information, but you will find most of what you’re looking for without much digging.

A fun mobile experience

With casinos such as PlayFrank it is sometimes more fun to play mobile than via desktop. The design translates well enough to the small screen and the casino is fully mobile compatible. You’ll be able to access all features and plenty of games on your mobile device.

You won’t miss out on any of the fun that can be had at PlayFrank, which does include the promotions available here. You’ll be easily able to access them via mobile as well. The navigation here is smooth and loading times are what you’d expect with a page that is a little heavier on the graphics.

Regular promotions, daily challenges and Tracks

Check out the promotions section at PlayFrank and you’ll be able to see a bunch of promotions from the past. That gives us a good idea as to what’s regularly available, though it can be slightly confusing, because you won’t be able to join those promotions anymore, even though they’re still appearing live.

Be that as it may, featured short-term promotions aside, you’ll be able to enjoy the Daily Challenges, which will give you instant rewards if you manage them. Up to three challenges are introduced every day and they’re mostly aimed at slot players. It’s good fun to join them here and there for additional rewards and to spice your slot play up a little.

Tracks are the loyalty scheme at PlayFrank. It’s basically keeping track of your playing, allowing you to level up as you play your favourite games and then offering a choice of different rewards according to your preferences. Those might be free spins, bonuses, cashback, cash spins or anything of that sort.

Tracks allows you to check into your progress and switch ‘tracks’ for different rewards depending on your mood. It’s definitely a more unique loyalty scheme and one you might want to check out.

Conclusion: A safe and solid casino experience that does not quite stand out from the crowd

If PlayFrank looked a little more unique or had something on offer that you couldn’t find anywhere else, we’d be delighted to tell you about it. But the casino does bear striking resemblance to other, similar, casinos, which is a bit of a shame. It’s fun, a little quirky, safe and sound, offering a good choice of developers and slots and even a good range of live tables.

But there are plenty of other casinos that do the same and some do it even a little better. Why, for instance, is one of the biggest progressive jackpots in the industry missing from the portfolio?

That’s not to say that we wouldn’t recommend PlayFrank. We can certainly recommend the casino, because there’s very little that bothers us here and as a well regulated online casino we’d much rather you play here than somewhere we know to be less well regulated. PlayFrank has been around for a few years now and has been able to establish a solid base, which is what matters. You’ll be able to find plenty of fun and entertainment here and there are other progressive jackpots for you to chase. What we would recommend to the casino is perhaps a little rebranding to make it a little more unique for us to stand out from the crowd.
