NextGen Gaming Casino List

NextGen games are a staple at most online casinos. They are very useful to have to boost the number of available games and some of the titles already mentioned can be found at most online casinos, even when they don’t feature a large number of NextGen titles.

Since NextGen doesn’t supply its games to an online casino exclusively, you won’t find a NextGen casino as such in our list. Instead you’ll find all our preferred online casinos here, which also supply NextGen games to you.

About NextGen Gaming

Whilst NextGen Gaming has been around for nearly two decades, the company has only made a name for itself in recent years. It was through the acquisition by the NYX Gaming Group that NextGen was put on the radar. Online casino players will often take one for the other, not quite realising that NextGen is indeed its own brand. NYX on the other hand was still relatively new in the industry when it bought out NextGen in 2011.

Since its early days NextGen has been making slot machines for offline venues as well as online casinos. Unlike some other well-known brands that have been around as long or even longer, NextGen never exclusively supplied an online casino with its games. They count about 600 games in their portfolio, however, which is a significant number.

As it is, the acquisition by NYX truly put NextGen on the map and they managed to collect a number of prestigious awards in recent years.

Games – slots and innovation

NextGen Gaming has extensive experience. That cannot be denied at all. They’ve been developing slots for 18 years now and not just for online casinos, but for land-based casinos as well. Despite their considerable portfolio, however, there are few titles that really stand out and that are well-known among fans.

Among them are certainly Foxin’ Wins and Foxin’ Wins again. But you’ll certainly know Merlin’s Millions, Ramesses Riches, 300 Shields and Monster Wins as well. Among the newer titles you’ll know James Dean, Great White Elk or Golden Hen.

NextGen slots, especially the older generation, can be quite generic. The main feature will be some sort of free spins and the base game will just see you spin away on the reels. Graphically, too, they can be somewhat underwhelming and don’t quite know how to truly compete with some of their competitors.

That being said, NextGen has definitely some gems on offer and their games are improving. The company does claim to be all about innovation and slots such as Witch Pickings, King Kong or Volcano prove that. Even when the graphics aren’t quite a bright or clear as those of other slot games, NextGen doesn’t shy away from special effects that impress and game features that will make you feel as if you just won a jackpot. We also found that many of their games are very detailed in their execution and there’s a lot to look at, even when the graphics are not stunning, the detail is neat.

Plus, they’re not taking themselves too seriously. Just take Robin Hood Prince of Tweets and tell us you didn’t crack a smile playing the slot.

Outside of slots there isn’t much else that NextGen makes. They also don’t have progressive jackpots for you to play.

Playing NextGen slots mobile

It took NextGen a while to jump onto the mobile gambling band wagon. Since they had originally produced their games as flash versions only, they had a problem adapting them for mobile use. But they could hardly call themselves innovators, if they had not eventually made the move to HTML5.

Whilst there are many NextGen games that are still not available for mobile play, new releases and popular slots can be played on the go easily these days. You can expect new slots to be available on mobile as well as desktop when they are released.

Bonuses and promotions

Unlike its competitors, NextGen doesn’t really do much in terms of network promotions or hands out bonuses. Individual casino may well run special promotions and we’ve definitely seen bonus free spins and campaigns when a new NextGen slot was released. Since the developer is now more serious than ever about remaining competitive and innovative, you can expect games that are announced in advance and highly anticipated, also to feature in some promotions here and there.

Usually you may win free spins then, and perhaps cash or tournaments will also be available. When Foxin’ Wins Again was released, it featured in some promotions, which only increased the popularity of the game. We certainly hope for more along these lines in the future.

That aside you are unlikely to find specific bonuses connected to NextGen games, simply because most online casinos give preference to other providers.

NextGen’s B2B approach

One of the reasons that NextGen Gaming can claim a huge portfolio is their B2B approach. Apart from making their own slots, which are branded under NextGen Gaming, they also license many of their games out to other providers such as Aristocrat, Amaya or Bally.

It’s not unusual to find yourself at an Aristocrat-powered casino playing games that were developed by NextGen.

Furthermore

Whilst NextGen is originally based in Australia, the acquisition through NYX means that the developer is licensed via the UK Gambling Commission as well as through Gibraltar. The games they produce are well up there in the industry standard in terms of safety and fairness and NextGen even received the “RNG Casino Supplier of the year” award in 2013.

What’s interesting now is that NYX is to be acquired by Scientific Games. It’s not clear how that will end up affecting NextGen, but NYX appears to welcome the acquisition, especially since Scientific Games is a well-respected and established brand in itself.
