Five NetEnt slots leaving casinos

Sometimes online casino game developers scrape slots from their portfolios. NetEnt has done so multiple times and now five of their slots are going out.

Removing slots from online casinos

If all the slots that have ever been made were available at online casinos, we’d never see the end of it. There are various reasons as to why a developer might remove slots. In the case of Aliens or South Park, licensing issues were likely the reason. But other games have vanished from NetEnt’s portfolio in the past. And they’re not the only developer who scrape games. It’s just part of the business.

Perhaps a game is simply outdated or doesn’t work with the newest technology anymore. Games that used to work with Flash only have been scraped once the move to HTML5 was made. After all, what’s the point in upgrading a game that is hardly played anymore?

Which slots are going?

You’ll likely know all of them and what surprises us about the games that will be removed as of tomorrow, 5th September, is the fact that none of them are terribly old.

The slots facing removal are:

  • Glow
  • Fantasini: Master of Mystery
  • Big Bang
  • NRVNA: The Next Experience
  • Tornado: Farm Escape

Out of the five games, the only one we’re truly sorry to see go is Tornado: Farm Escape. It’s a fun and quirky slot with some unique features and we have no explanation as to why NetEnt would remove it. Perhaps this one will be upgraded? One can hope.

As for the other games, none of them were outstanding and we suspect people will hardly notice that they’ve been removed.

New things to come

NetEnt is one of those developers that release a new slot at least once per month on a fairly regular schedule, though sometimes they throw in an exclusive release here and there.

The next game they’ve announced for the end of this month is called Double Stacks and has more of a classic look to it. We’ll check it out for you once it hits casinos.
