Yggdrasil Gaming releases Penguin City

Lately, we are under the impression that Yggdrasil Gaming releases game after game. Their latest slot is Penguin City. It’s wonderfully amusing.

Penguin City features

Penguin City is a pretty simple slot. You spin along in the base game and hope for a Wild to appear and become part of a winning combination. Whenever that happens, the Penguin Escape mode is activated, and you’ll find yourself in a kitchen, with Penguins queued on one shelf, jumping off after each spin, hoping to escape and not drop onto a conveyor belt, which will end unpleasantly.

They won’t jump if the mighty Penguin Emperor appears as a stacked Wild on reel 3. Whilst his appearance is good for you, guaranteeing a win on every spin that he keeps wandering down, the Penguins are too afraid to escape.

Also, this slot pays both ways, which is rare in any case but an added feature here.

Cute and amusing

We’ll get you a full review of the game soon enough, but for now, we just want to tell you to simply give it a try. The game is set in the far east, playing out at a food booth on a night market. If you’ve ever been on a night market in Asia, you’ll recognize the vibe. Though you probably won’t have encountered too many penguins there.

The theme is adorable, though, and the Penguins are fun to watch, especially when the tumble onto the conveyor.

Graphically the game is well done and rendered beautifully with many cool details. Whilst the reels are spinning in automatic mode, you’ll find yourself observing the surroundings for a while, taking in everything. It only really gets interesting once the Penguin Escape starts, which it does fairly often, though sometimes only for a single spin because the feature is only active as long as you keep winning.
