Yggdrasil Gaming updates deal with Betsson AB

Yggdrasil Gaming Ltd and Betsson AB have worked together for years already. Now their partnership deal receives an upgrade.

Partners since the beginning

Yggdrasil Gaming has been a licensed supplier of online casino games since 2013. In 2014 Betsson AB became one of the company’s first partners when they signed their initial partnership. That means the two companies have been working together for four years already. So, you’ve already been able to play Yggdrasil games at Betsson AB properties for some time.

What’s new?

That begs the question, what’s new for the two and why the updated agreement? Well, Yggdrasil Gaming has been making huge efforts in expanding their business as you will have noticed, because we regularly write about it.

Similar deals between the Cherry AB subsidiary and other operators have been signed in recent months, including GVC Holding and Lottomatica. More importantly, however, the game developer has been receiving new licenses in a number of countries. That means they are now able to supply their games to Denmark, Latvia, Spain or Italy among others, expanding their reach much beyond what was the case when they first signed major agreements with online casino operators.

Thus, they have actually updated many licensing agreements with operators in recent months. This deal with Betsson AB marked the 19th occasion.

What does that mean for players?

Betsson AB operates in many different countries, but due to licensing restrictions, they’re not always able to offer all games from all their partners everywhere. If a game developer is not licensed in Denmark, for instance, their games could not be played there, even when a casino has an existing partnership with that developer.

With the updated agreement Yggdrasil games can now be offered by Betsson AB at a much greater scale.

Andy Broughton Braithwaite from Betsson AB says Yggdrasil games are “a popular choice with our players across many countries and brands”, adding that this is “an important extension of an already successful partnership”.

Yggdrasil CEO Fredrik Elmqvist adds: “This framework will ensure that the deep and strategic partnership between Yggdrasil [Gaming Limited] and Betsson [AB] continues to flourish”.
