The changes will apply to several aspects, including the elimination of wagering requirements in certain occasions, namely, players will no longer be required to wager through a number of times before being able to withdraw their cash.
All restrictions regarding gameplay have to be laid out clearly and the companies must not use vague phrases that mislead players.
The operators will no longer be allowed to ask players to appear publicly and promote their brands if they have won a certain prize. The UK Gambling Commission urged other operators to adopt similar changes and the CMA have stated that those who fail to comply might be fined by the UKGC.
UKGC Boss Sarah Gardner stated that operators have to offer fair terms and conditions, adding that the Commission will remain dedicated to the process.
Representatives of the operators that announced that they will introduce changes also spoke publicly on the matter, claiming that they are willing to cooperate in order to meet the standards and satisfy their customers. William Hill released a statement in which they pledge to continue to work with the CMA to meet the expectations, adding that they are one of the largest operators in the UK.
