With Playtech all up in the DC franchise now, the developer just released their newest slot Batman v Superman, following up on the Justice League slot last year.
Batman v Superman
The movie was a middling success and called a ‘mess’ even by fanboys. The director was all over the place with the plot, if there even was a plot, but the action sequences were certainly out of this world.
Still, Playtech is all about the DC slots these days and this one was about due. Their first slot in this particular line, Justice League, was rather successful – as was the movie – and we’re now only really waiting for a Wonder Woman slot.
Free spin features and jackpots
The newest Playtech slot comes with two different free spin features, which are triggered in very different ways. If the shifting wilds of Superman and Batman appear on the same reel, ideally because they shifted there (Superman from left to right and Batman from right to left), the two go to battle in a free spin feature. You will have to pick one of them as your hero and when they do battle and your hero wins, you get four extra spins in order to continue spinning.
The other free spin feature is triggered by the Doomsday wild appearing fully on the middle reel. Once that happens the Doomsday wild will show up on reel 5 and wander over to reel 1 with every spin. If, however, the Superman, Batman or Wonder Woman wilds appear to the left of it, they will essentially battle it and push it back a reel. As long as that happens, you get more free spins. The feature ends once the Doomsday wild reaches reel 1, where it will then double in size, also covering all of reel 2 and giving you some additional wins that way.
Oh, and the slot comes with four jackpots, the biggest of which can win you over €1 million easily!
Excellent sound and great animations
In terms of graphics and general mechanics, you’re looking at a typical Playtech slot here. The navigation and mechanics are not at all innovative with their games, instead solid and reliable, which is all good and well. But there soundtrack for this slot is rather dramatic and therefore creates quite a bit of suspense when playing. And the animations when the heroes clash or Doomsday makes an appearance are adding a lot of entertainment value.
