Ikibu Casino Review

Ikibu is another casino in the ever growing line-up of MT SecureTrade Ltd operated casinos. Among the sister casinos you’ll find Guts.com, Rizk, Cashmio, Dunder, Mobil6000 and a handful more. Like other casinos, Ikibu was also established in 2016 and has been making quite the impression since, even receiving an EGR Rising Star award.

And that seems hardly surprising, because Ikibu, just like any other casino from MT SecureTrade Ltd. manages to be different. It’s playful, quirky and it is a journey you might want to undertake. The casino claims that they offer the first “Casino Journey”, but truly the concept is not as they might think. It is very similar to CasinoHeroes, for instance. You’ll also find yourself on an island, which is home to the Ikkis, little blue monkey-like creatures and you get to journey across that island in order to unlock achievements and villages. Seeds are the currency of choice here, again nothing entirely new, and you can exchange them for goodies at the store.

A lot of love and effort were put into Ikibu casino, and no doubt about it. The graphics are fantastic and this is definitely a casino to have fun at, but are they the first of their kind? Not really.

Still, you’ll want to consider taking this journey. To get you started a 100% welcome bonus and up to £100 extra await. On top of that you can grab 2,500 seeds. And an offer for the second deposit is available as well.

So here’s what to look forward if signing up at Ikibu:

  • More than 1,000 games from great providers
  • UKGC and MGA licenses
  • Races and promotions
  • Earn seeds and exchange them
  • Competent customer service

A bonus and seeds for your first two deposits

Whether you sign up at an online casino often depends on their welcome offer as well. Not solely, but it does play a role. Ikibu is a casino that offers a welcome bonus on your first two deposits, which is always nice.

  • 1st deposit – 100% match bonus and up £100 plus 2,500 seeds
  • 2nd deposit – 50% reload bonus and up to £100 plus another 2,500 seeds

Now, seeds are the currency at Ikibu and you usually earn them when playing at the casino. You can use those seeds and convert them into casino spins in the shop at Ikibu. There they also have special offers on certain slots, where you can choose a slot and the number of spins you want to ‘buy’ and then spend your seeds on them to play them as casino spins.

Some of the main conditions for the welcome bonus are:

  • Minimum deposit of £10
  • 30x wagering of bonus + deposit
  • Valid for 30 days
  • Deposits with Neteller and Skrill are not eligible for the offer
  • Only slots contribute 100% to complete wagering requirements (exceptions apply), no other games contribute at all
  • Winnings from casino spins need to be wagered 35x

The bonus terms are extensive and thus you can find them on a separate page. We do recommend that you read them carefully. On the whole the welcome bonus is average when it comes to its terms. They could certainly be more restrictive, but they could also be more generous.

A thousand games for you to choose from

Considering the many suppliers Ikibu works with, it’s hardly surprising that the casino boasts 1,000 games and more. The number is growing all the time, because new games are released all the time.

Among the providers you’ll find NetEnt, Microgaming, Betsoft, Thunderkick, NextGen, Play’n GO, ELK Studios, SG Interactive and developers such as Red Tiger Gaming, Quickspin or IGT.

And thus you’ll find such excellent titles as Planet of the Apes, Blood Suckers II, Wild Seas, Pied Piper, The Phantom of the Opera as well as Universal Monsters: The Phantom’s Curse, Hidden, Prosperity Palace or Family Guy.

New releases are added all the time and you’ll find some of the best and most beloved games around right here at Ikibu.

You are not restricted to slots, however. Table games are also available at the casino. Play Roulette, Blackjack, Red Dog, Pai Gow or Monopoly Roulette Tycoon. Mind you, the selection is rather small and you might be better off checking out the live tables, if you want additional variety.

A decent live casino offering

Ikibu’s live casino is powered by Evolution Gaming, the leading provider of live tables in the industry. You can’t really go wrong here and whilst Ikibu doesn’t offer a slew of casino table games, you’ll find plenty to entertain you in the live casino.

Choose among a variety of Roulette and Blackjack tables or check out Baccarat, Three Card Poker, Casino Hold’em and Caribbean Poker. Right now there are 26 tables to choose from, which is pretty decent for a casino that seems to focus mostly on slots otherwise.

Not quite as many jackpots as we’d like to see

Whilst Ikibu offers up the most important progressive jackpots that we expect to see just about anywhere, the selection is still pretty small on the whole. Among the big jackpots you’ll find:

  • Hall of Gods
  • Mega Fortune
  • Mega Moolah and Mega Moolah Isis
  • MegaJackpots Wolf Run
  • Major Millions
  • King Cashalot

Additionally you’ll find Cash Splash in two versions and Gunslinger as available smaller jackpots. Not listed in the jackpot section but available nonetheless is Divine Fortune. We certainly wouldn’t mind more jackpots in the future.

A very extensive FAQ section

As far as we know the customer service is not open 24/7. Last we found out they are usually open between 9am and midnight. That could certainly be improved, but it’s also pretty decent availability. Making up for that, however, is the very extensive FAQ section.

Just click on ‘help’ at the bottom of each page and you’ll be able to browse the many questions that have already been answered for you. A lot of subjects are covered here and there are few questions left open that will require you to contact the friendly, helpful and competent customer service team.

Indeed, you’ll probably only find yourself talking to them when you have an actual problem. As far as we heard those are usually addressed quickly and with a company like MT SecureTrade Ltd behind them, the casino is not actually known for a lot of complaints or issues.

Doubly licensed and with multiple certificates of trust

We know MT SecureTrade Ltd to be a safe and sound operator of online casinos. They provide secure casino experiences that usually offer a lot of fun and that’s not different at Ikibu. The casino may not have been around as long as some others, but it has over a year under its belt now and we know of few complaints that couldn’t be resolved.

Given that it is licensed by and regulated through the MGA as well as the notoriously strict UKGC, the casino strikes us as completely trustworthy. And multiple other sites have arrived at the same conclusion, because quite a few of them have endorsed Ikibu, awarding the casino with their certificate of trust. Chief among them are AskGamblers and Casinomeister, trusted online casino sources.

Additionally Ikibu does ask that you use the AskGamblers complaint service if you do experience any issues and we have seen their reps respond to reviews with their own comments there as well.

Lots of payment options available

Ikibu provides its own ‘payments’ page, which is always handy. Here they list available payment options, whether they are available for deposits and/or withdrawals and applicable fees. Unfortunately for most payment methods fees apply when requesting a withdrawal, but there are at least no deposit fees.

Curiously all payment options are also ticked as available withdrawal options, which seems unlikely in the case of paysafecard or Sofortüberweisung. Some methods simply don’t allow withdrawals, so you might want to check back with customer service on this one.

In any case, you will be able to use Visa, MasterCard, Euteller, Trustly, zimpler, Neteller, Skrill, ecoPayz and Bank Transfer as a deposit method and most of these options are also available for withdrawals.

The maximum withdrawal per week is £10,000, though that can be reviewed on a case by case basis and progressive jackpots are exempt from this restriction.

No casino RTPs published

In many cases you’ll be able to find the RTP of individual games at Ikibu. For most slots anyway. It is a requirement of the UKGC to make all RTPs available to players, so in some cases you may actually have to dig deeper or talk to customer service.

That said, the casino does not publish their overall RTP numbers. At least nowhere we were able to find. Whether or not the customer service team is able to provide those numbers remains to be seen, but we don’t necessarily count on it. Whilst we do consider MT SecureTrade Ltd a great operator, this is one area that they could improve in, which is true for almost all their casinos.

A quirky, colourful and unique design

Visiting the Ikibu homepage is a little like diving into a comic book. The drawing style of the background and animations is unique and very lively. You get to visit a made-up world and immerse yourself in it, especially when you sign up. The Ikkis are cute and the environment you encounter provides lots of fun.

The whole atmosphere is very vivid, which is something we especially like. And this is probably as far away from a traditional casino experience as you can get. The games are almost a sideshow, although they are very much integrated into everything you do here.

The playful design is probably not for everyone. Some casino players just want to play and not be distracted by little blue monkeys. If that’s the case for you, you’re probably not the target audience anyway. That’s the nice things of having such a large variety of online casinos. Even among the sister casinos run by MT SecureTrade Ltd you’re sure to find something more to your liking. But if you like some playful adventures and it’s not merely about spinning the reels on the next best slot, then give Ikibu a try.

Join the adventure on the go

When you open the mobile page of Ikibu it takes a moment to load. That may just be due to the many graphics loading on the page, or perhaps our connection wasn’t that great. Either way, a little compass appears, already setting the mood that you are about to embark on an adventure and then the world of Ikibu opens up on the small screen.

The colours are vibrant, the animations translate very well to the small screen and you can hop right in. Join up via mobile, grab the welcome offer, enter the races and do whatever else you like via mobile when playing at Ikibu. It’s all there even in the more compact format. Navigation is smooth and has been simplified for the mobile version of the casino, but you can still find all the important things without having to dig too deep.

So, if you like to play mobile, you’ll love playing mobile at Ikibu, because it’s been very well done and as long as you have a decent smartphone and stable internet connection, you’re all set.

Seeds, races and a journey

So, like other online casinos that offer such an immersive experience, where you get to travel through an imagined world, explore new islands, villages, planets or whatever the case may be, you have to unlock the next destination by playing at the casino. Usually unlocking (or levelling up) comes with its own rewards. In the case of Ikibu the most likely reward you would receive are seeds – the previously mentioned ‘currency’ of Ikibu. Right now they serve to convert into casino spins at the shop, but perhaps in the future other things could be purchased with it, such as different bonus types and maybe even gadgets or whatever. Other casinos that offers shops where you can purchase items with some sort of currency usually offer a range of different ‘products’.

Another way to earn seeds are the races. Some of the races actually require you to spend seeds to join them, but the reward tends to be worthwhile. The races involve you playing certain slots, climbing the leader board and getting a share of the loot. Some races are quick and only last a few hours whilst others will last for several days. Just check out the dedicated pages and see what’s currently happening or what’s coming up next.

And extra promotions may be available as well. Right now there is the “Monday ‘s Champions” promotion, where extra seeds can be earned upon levelling up. It’s a nice little incentive.

Conclusion: A fun casino journey to undertake

Like we’ve already said: Ikibu won’t be for everyone. It’s light-hearted, quirky, fun and more about the journey than simply playing slots or spinning the Roulette wheel. You can do all that and ignore the races or earning seeds. But you can do that at just about any other decent online casino as well. If you want to go on a journey and have a little adventure as well, then Ikibu is a great choice.

You get plenty of slots, a nice diversion with table and live games and rewards in the form of seeds. Yes, the system is not yet perfect and it’s not really enough to simply convert seeds into casino spins and that’s it. They may as well just offer spins without the whole seed business. But perhaps the range of goodies will be expanded eventually? We’ll have to wait and see.

At Ikibu you get some immersive fun, great games, great customer service and a secure and recommended operator behind it all. What’s not to like?
