Wild Falls brings us a Gold Rush theme. Head back to the 19th century North America, where hunters of the precious metal wound up along rivers near the mountains to pan for gold. In some ways, this slot looks simple with its Gold Rush paraphernalia and playing card symbols carved from rocks. But it also quite beautifully done with the mountains in the background and the river falling down a waterfall, which forms the backdrop of this game.
The background soundtrack reminds us of the Wild West, and you might want to turn the volume down just a little. It gets annoying otherwise.
On the reels, you’ll find the gold sack, the gold pan, the pickaxe and spade and a lantern. The sack of gold is the most valuable symbol, paying out 25x your stake for a 5-of-a-kind win. The gold pan pays out 20x your stake for such a win. And the pickaxe and spade still give you 15x your stake for such a combination.
Pay attention to the chests flowing on the river. They’re not just the wild symbols that randomly fall down the water fall, they also act as the scatter in this game.
You can play Wild Falls from €0.20 to €100, which makes it suitable for most budgets.
Truly, all you’ll be interested in this game are those chests flowing on the river. They’re always three in one row and you can just glimpse more beyond that. When you start spinning the reels (a very fast affair), those chests will randomly dislodge and fall down the reels. Sometimes they land on the reels, acting as a wild, other times they’ll simply fall into the abyss.
Should a wild land on the reels, it can also randomly trigger Rapid Re-spins. In that case, the wild is held in place and you get 1 re-spin. Should another wild land on the reels, another re-spin is awarded. All wilds are sticky here.
During the Gold Rush feature, which randomly turns all those chests golden during the base game, the wilds will come with added multipliers when they land on the reels. You can get a 2x, 3x or 5x multiplier. Indeed, multiple multipliers will multiply with each other to give you a maximum 125x your stake. This might only happen once every 100 spins or even less than that, but it is nice when it does.
Free spins are activated when you land a wild scatter on reel 2, 3 and 4. You will now start the River of Gold free spins. The chests will drop down onto the reels and wherever they land, they will move down one position on every subsequent spin until they fall off the reels. More chests will keep falling in from above (though not always land on the reels) and you will get free spins as long as there’s at least one wild on the reels. Only when the last wild has disappeared, will the free spins stop.
Additionally, if you get 3 gold chests, you start the Super River of Gold, where all wilds also have multipliers.
The theoretical RTP (Return to Player) of Wild Falls is 96.5%, which is excellent. But this slot is very volatile, unless it goes a little easier on you from time to time. Generally, you should watch your budget, simply because the reels spin so fast that you will have played 100 rounds without even realising it.
See those chests on the river and having them fall and land on the reels, is pretty fun. You’ll be thrilled every time it happens. And you’ll be crossing your fingers that it keeps happening during the free spins. Wild Falls is fun and it’s a well-done little slot. It may not always pay out the way you’d like it to, but free spins are triggered often enough to keep you going.
