Theme and general information

Wild Catch takes us out into some remote areas of Canada or perhaps the Rocky Mountains. There’s tons of lovely nature to behold here, snow-capped mountains, a green rivers (or blue lakes in the free spins) and lush greenery. You’re tempted to take a deep breath and smell the fresh air.

The theme, more specifically, is fly fishing. There are two anglers on the reels, separately and together as well as all the fly-fishing paraphernalia you would expect, including flies, hooks, tackle boxes and scenic pictures of fly fishing.

The backdrop is really nicely done, though the soundtrack is a little unexpected and not as serene as you might expect with such scenery.

Splashing Wilds and Rolling Reels in the base game

Wild Catch comes with Rolling Reels, feature trademarked by Microgaming, but essentially nothing else than the avalanche feature and cascading wins. As such, symbols forming a winning combination are removed from the reels and replaced by new ones falling from above, hopefully adding further wins.

We don’t get a multiplier in the base game, however.

Splashing Wilds can randomly be triggered in the base game and add a full stack of wilds to reel 2, 3 or 4. The stack remains in place as long as the Rolling Reels are active on a winning spin.
