Play’n GO seemingly has two favourites: classic slots and video slots that are set in Ancient Egypt. Lately, perhaps, they’ve also added their heavy metal rock slots to their list of favourite themes, but these two are definitely up there.
With Sticky Joker we get once again a very classic setup. Three reels with three rows and only 5 paylines. We’ve had plenty of their Joker slots (Fire Joker, Inferno Joker, Chronos Joker, etc.). Once again, the main feature is spoilered in the title of the slot, but that’s alright. It’s easier to remember that way.
Visually, Sticky Joker is as well-crafted as you’d expect from Play’n GO. We get colourful, 3D fruits and other symbols on the reels, which look good even though they don’t wow us. There’s the cherry, lemon, grape and plum as the lower value symbols, and the BAR, star and 7 as the higher value symbols. The Joker itself tops them all with 8x our stake for 3 of a kind. Previous Joker slots looked more sophisticated than this one, but it’s still a solid offering. Plus, when the Joker symbol whirls past on the reels, his hat is flying in a funny way.
The Joker also acts as the wild in the game, substituting for all other symbols.
You can play this game from a low 0.05 to 100.00 per spin, making it suitable for all budgets.
There are essentially two features in this game, one relying on the other. Whenever a Joker symbol lands on the reels, it becomes sticky. We get a free re-spin and hope to land more Jokers. As long as that is the case, the re-spins continue. This goes on until either no more Jokers land or until the reels are full of Jokers.
Now, as long as we collect at least four Jokers on the reels, the Multiplier Wheel is launched as soon as the re-spins are over. On the reel we find 12 segments with multipliers worth 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x or 10x. Wherever the multiplier lands, that value will be multiplied with the final win from the re-spins.
With a screen full of Jokers and the maximum 10x multiplier, we could thus end up with 400x our stake in a single spin.
The theoretical RTP (Return to Player) of Sticky Joker is 96.74%, which is excellent, especially for a medium variance slot such as this one. However, as usual, operators can lower this RTP significantly to below 95%, which is not great at all.
Sticky Joker is a solid little classic slot. It’s well-crafted but not excellent. The game has a fast pace, which keeps the action going and the re-spins are triggered fairly often, even though we don’t always land the Multiplier Wheel. When we do, however, it can be a nice experience that gives our budget a good boost. We’ve been lucky enough to first win 160x our stake with a 3x multiplier and then 180x our stake with a 2x multiplier. Each times, plenty of Jokers were present on the reels.
When that happens, do a little happy dance and move onto something else. Sticky Joker is entertaining enough but won’t capture you for long. Amongst their Joker slots, it’s a more mediocre offering, especially since the maximum potential is apparently 1,650x our stake. It is worth giving it a try, though.
