This game is based on eight-time champion jockey Peter Scudamore MBE, who rode 1,678 winning horses in his career. If you’re not into horse racing or sportsbetting as such, you’ll be forgiven for not knowing anything about this theme or Peter Scudamore. We’ll tell you why that shouldn’t keep you from joining this race, though.

Whilst we’re not fans of sports themed slots, this one has been very well done. The backdrop is a horseracing track, Peter Scudamore is the Wild, there are four more jockeys on the reels and the royals from J to A.

The slot looks more traditional rather than super modern but that goes well with the theme here. The background music is exciting and lively, we hear galloping horses and announcements being made, especially during the features. It all goes very well together and whether you like this kind of theme or not, you can’t deny that it has been well done.

The red jockey is the most valuable, paying 250 coins for 5 on a payline. The purple jockey pays out 200 coins for such a win and the green jockey pays out 150 coins, whilst the blue jockey still pays 100 coins. If you get 5 Wilds on a payline, however, you’d get 1,000 coins.

Random Wilds and Betting Slips in the base game

The game benefits from two features in the base game. One is much more random than the other, however. The Random Wilds can be triggered on any spin, but you’ll rarely see them more than once every 50 spins. During a lucky streak, we saw them more often, but on a dry spell we didn’t see them even once during 100 spins.

Either way, golden horse shoes will drop onto the reels in random positions. You’ll usually get between 2 and 5. During our luckiest encounter with the feature (which happened during our first session of the game) we get 5 horse shoes on five reels. That was a mega win right there. Those horse shoes turn into Wilds and create some good winning combinations, if you’re lucky.

The other feature is the betting slip. If you haven’t filled one in, you’ll see a corner of it on the right-hand side of the reels. Click on it and you can place various bets on which symbol might show up how many times during a set number of spins. The rarer and more valuable the symbol, the higher your potential return. Plus, you can choose the amount you bet on the outcome and thus determine the win in case your bet is successful. Of course, if your bet doesn’t win, you’ll lose your stake.
