Theme and basic information

Rockabilly Wolves is a slot that gives us a Rock’n Roll theme with, well, wolves. The three wolves that give the slot its title are all appearing on the stacked wild on the reels. They look cool and quirky and they can be very dangerous. But more on that later.

The rock soundtrack is cool and entertaining. The graphics are fairly simple, though, and the reel symbols are somewhat random as well. We get the three wolves stacked as the wild in the game. They’re worth 20x our stake for a win of 5 on a payline. And the game logo, which also comes stacked, is also worth 20x our stake for such a win.

The black 8 ball with flames spouting from it and the cherries are the other two high-value symbols, also landing stacked on the reels. They’re worth 8x and 6x our stake, respectively, for 5 on a payline.

All the playing card symbols from J to A are worth 1.5x our stake for such a win.

Stacked wilds and re-spins in the base game

Rockabilly Wolves is not just a game of simple looks but also of simple mechanics. The wild symbol and the high value symbols always come stacked, the playing card symbols usually come stacked as well, though.

But the base game doesn’t hold many surprises and you’ll mostly be waiting for the free spin scatter to land on reels 2, 3 and 4. The only advantage you get is that you get a re-spin whenever 2 scatters land on the reels, giving you a chance at collecting a 3 scatter to activate the free spins. In fact, only the reel will spin where the 3rd scatter hasn’t landed yet.

Most of the time, this probably won’t work. But sometimes it just might.

Sticky wilds and multipliers in the free spins

Funny enough, most of the time we activated the free spins by spinning three scatters on the reels at once. When that happens, you get 9 free spins.

During the free spins, a single wild will be added to the reels in the middle position on the middle reel. Here it remains sticky throughout. You will also get a 2x multiplier added to all wins automatically. Further wilds can appear on other reels, where they can also become sticky. And further multipliers can be added.

The multiplier can climb to 6x and if you manage to collect three sticky wilds on the three middle reels, you will get 3 additional free spins. In total, you can thus play 12 free spins.

Conclusion: Fun, volatile and a test to your patience

As simple as the game might be, it is surprisingly fun, especially thanks to the rockin’ soundtrack. Its volatility will test your patience, however, and we haven’t found the free spin feature often or very successfully. We’ve managed to win maybe 30x or 50x our stake here, but we didn’t catch many multipliers or extra sticky wilds, which was slightly disappointing.
