Theme and general information

To say that Rally 4 Riches is unique is a bit of an understatement. Play’n GO has taken a classic fruit slot and basically pimped it up to a race car slot. An odd combination to be sure.

The scenery is beautifully done, and we can imagine ourselves to be somewhere in the Alps, perhaps in Austria, where rally takes place. The air is fresh and still clear before the race, but the cars’ engines are already roaring, impatient to get going and leaving the onlookers in the dust.

A few blimps are flying around, which is a little strange, but okay. The soundtrack is also a bit annoying, so you may want to turn down the volume.

On the reels, we get low value fruit symbols such as lemons, melons, grapes and cherries, which look good but don’t quite feel right here. Racing paraphernalia would have been more suitable here. We do, after all, get four race cars as the high value symbols. The blue one is the most valuable one at 25x our stake for three of a kind.

Only wins of three symbols count on the five paylines, of course. There is also a 1×3 wild symbol, which is a trophy. There are no scatters in the regular game, instead we get the Bonus Reel, which sits separately a fourth reel on the right-hand side.

The Bonus Reel

The Bonus Reel comes with three different options that can land on any spin. The reel spins alongside the main reel set and can land on a multiplier, a wild nudge or the bonus symbol.

Multiplier – If a win occurs on the main reel set and a multiplier is on display on the bonus reel, it gets applied. You can get 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x or 10x on your win. If no win lands, we may get a Main Reel Re-Spin for a chance to land a win.

Wild Nudge – If a 1×3 wild symbol lands only partially on the main reel set and a wild nudge lands on the bonus reel, the wild gets nudged up or down to land fully on the reels. Additionally, the bonus reel may also spin again to potentially land on a multiplier.

Bonus Symbol – The Championship Race bonus is triggered.

A Race and various places for more wins or even a jackpot

When the Championship Race bonus is triggered, things really get going. Where we initially looked at the starting line of the race, things are now off and we are racing down a track, pursuing other race cars in front of us.

There are 25 spaces to move through and we can move up to 6 spaces in one turn, which either offer multipliers for a cash prize or nitro boosts, which move us further along. When the race is over, four positions are possible:

4th prize – We collect our winnings and the game is over.

3rd prize – We get 4 free spins with a wild nudge active on every spin. Only multipliers now land on the bonus reel.

2nd prize – We get 4 win spins, where a win is guaranteed on every spin. Wild nudges are active on every spin and we get a multiplier on every spin as well.

1st prize – The Jackpot Podium is activated. It consists of a pyramid with 5 tiers, where a light moves between various multipliers on each tier. We’re on the lowest tier and depending on where the light stops, we either get a multiplier or an arrow up to move up to the next tier. Here the multipliers are higher, though we could also climb another tier. The prizes range from 7x on the lowest tier and up to 1,000x on the top tier.

Verdict: A unique and fun slot with decent potential

The theoretical RTP (Return to Player) for Rally 4 Riches is 96.25%, which is quite good especially for a slot with a rating of 8/10 for volatility. That means it is a volatile game, but it doesn’t have the highest possible volatility.

Rally 4 Riches is a unique slot, very well executed and fruit symbols aside, it looks great and is fun to play. There are plenty of features and the game is never boring. It’s a slot you can enjoy even if you are not a fan of race cars or dirt rallies.
