Once more we get a luck of the Irish theme. There’s a leprechaun in the game, who’s showing up every once and a while. Mostly, you’ll see his green top hat at the bottom of the reels, when he’s walking past. Sometimes he shows up more fully, blowing his pipe and giving us a feature.
It’s fun, though overall the game looks fairly generic, which is unusual considering that Red Tiger have come up with awesome looking slots even when they recycled a well-used theme.
On the reels, we find a golden four-leaf clover, a golden horseshoe, a green top hat. We also get playing card symbols from 10 to A. The only thing that doesn’t look generic is the intricate gate with Celtic designs that frames the reels. The hint of landscape you can see in the background is also quite lovely.
The wild is the highest-paying symbol in the game, giving us 800 coins for 5 on a payline. After that, the four-leaf clover is the highest-value symbol, paying out 480 coins for 5 on a payline. The horseshoe is still worth 320 coins and the top hat pays 160 coins for such a win.
You can play this game from 0.10 to 100.00 per spin, though this may vary at different casinos.
There are two important features in the base game. Three beer bonus scatters will trigger the beer bonus feature. Now three empty beer glasses show up and you pick one of them. They then get filled with beer and eventually the flow stops. Depending on which one you picked, yours either keeps filling up or it stops before the others do. Either way, you may win 10x your stake, 40x your stake or even 100x your stake.
The leprechaun may also blow special symbol swap bubbles onto the reels with his pipe. Usually, when that happens, you get a wild or another high-value symbol that create a winning combination. Even if you just get the playing card symbols, a win is pretty much guaranteed.
Land three free spins scatters on the reels and you trigger the free spins. Maybe you get 6, maybe you get 12. If the Leprechaun shows up again, you may even get 100 free spins. The swap feature is active during the free spins and you may get some decent wins here.
Other than that, there’s nothing special going on. Except, you know getting up to 100 spins is pretty awesome if the luck of the Irish should be with you.
The theoretical RTP (Return to Player) for Rainbow Jackpots is 96.24%, which is a little above average and quite good. The features in the game are good enough to keep you entertained for quite some time. And they usually win you enough back to keep you going.
But we found the slot still more volatile than others and you should budget carefully. We had fun playing Rainbow Jackpots and liked the features. Eventually, though, the payouts weren’t what they could be, and it felt as if we were losing more than the few times we managed some decent wins. So, fun is not everything if you can’t score a big win here or there. Just be aware of that when you play this one.
