Theme and general information

With Persian Fortune we get a theme from 1001 Nights. We’re inside a palace, it is night and the atmosphere is quite lovely. It’s a little bit generic as well, though. There are plenty of slots with this theme out there and Persian Fortune doesn’t add anything new to it.

The reels are framed by pillars and the lights are glittering. A few gold coins and jewels are scattered about. The background music is quite serene and pretty generic as well.

The wild shows us the Persian Princess and she’s the most valuable symbol on the reels, paying 200x our bet for 5 of a kind. The palace is worth 160x our bet for such a win and the ring pays 120x our bet for 5 on a payline. The crossed swords pay 80x our stake and the vase is worth 60x our stake.

The game uses the avalanche engine, meaning winning symbols are removed from the reels to make room for new ones from above.

Climbing multipliers and more in the base game

The base game doesn’t get boring too soon. The avalanche feature comes with a climbing multiplier, for instance. On a winning spin, the multiplier climbs from 1x to 2x to 3x, 5x, 6x and finally 8x. You may end up getting to 5x, but rarely higher than that.

Additionally, you’ll notice random symbols framed in a blue light on pretty much every spin. If that symbol happens to be part of a winning combination, the blue light will leave a wild behind in one of the now empty spaces.

There are also Mega Tiles that spin on the reels. They’re 2×2 or 3×3 big and can create pretty decent wins in the right position. They can also be surrounded by the blue light and create a wild if they vanish off the reels.

Pick your way to the highest multiplier

The game does not have a free spin feature. But we do get a bonus game. Three bonus symbols anywhere on the reels will trigger the Magic Carpet pick-me feature.

First of all, you get the choice of three flying carpets, which will reveal how many picks you get. Then you get two rows of carpets with 7 carpets each. Below that, four multipliers are displayed, and you now pick among the carpets to reveal jewels. If you collect three jewels of one colour, you’ll get the multiplier. It’s possible to collect more than one of the available multipliers as long as you have more picks left.

The multipliers available are 18x, 38x, 138x and 888x your stake. With 9 picks we once managed to claim the 138x and 38x multiplier, which combined and gave us a 176x multiplier on our stake.

Conclusion: A solid slot that can offer some decent wins

The theoretical RTP (Return to Player) of Persian Fortune is 96%, which is once again an average value. Once again, we get a slot with medium volatility, though it does tend to a higher volatility. Getting a climbing multiplier in the base game is not that easy. As already mentioned, we rarely managed to get 5x and never 8x.

Still, whilst none of the features alone are exciting in the base game, it makes for solid gameplay as things keep happening instead of simply spinning away the reels to hope for a feature. The Magic Carpet feature is almost guaranteed to win you something, especially if you manage to get enough picks.

Sure, there may be more exciting games from Red Tiger out there and bigger wins are available as well. But you can definitely have some fun with this one.
