Berryburst slot review
Berryburst is a video slot from NetEnt with 5 reels and cluster pay across 3 rows. You need at least five symbols touching vertically or horizontally to create a winning combination in this slot. You can play Berryburst in Online Casinos such as ComeOn, Cashmio or Dunder.
Theme and game basics
Berryburst is very much a fruit slot, but there is nothing classic about it. The fruits are actually submersed in liquid, giving off the impression of being part of a fruity summer drink. Considering that the wilds are ice cubes, we’re definitely in for a refreshing drink. Interestingly, besides the raspberries, we get black currants (or perhaps blueberries?) as well as oranges and limes. You might think that those aren’t berries. But technically they are.
The raspberries are the highest value symbols, which will get you 5,000 coins for a cluster of 15 symbols. The oranges give us 3,000 coins and the other two will each payout 2,000 coins in a similar combination. The low-paying symbols are card suit symbols (hearts, diamonds and spades) inside little bubbles that each pay 1,000 coins.
Gameplay and features
Berryburst is a very simple game. Besides the cluster pays feature, where clusters of five or more symbols touching each other vertically or horizontally are giving us wins, the expanding wild is the main feature.
The wild can show up on any reel and just like in Starburst, wherever it appears on the reels, it will expand. And then we get a free re-spin, where the wild reel is locked in place. If more wilds appear, you get more re-spins with each wild reel locked in place. That way you can get all five reels covered with wilds, which could give you the maximum of 1,868x your stake in winnings.
Starburst, which is very similar in mechanics, the maximum win is 500x your stake.
Conclusion
The theoretical RTP (return to player) of Berryburst is 96.66%. That’s a great value and higher than that of its twin slot Berryburst Max, which we have reviewed separately. Berryburst is a low to medium variety slot that will pay out frequently but generally small wins. The game mechanics are as simple as they come, and the theme is nicely done. You can actually play Berryburst for a long time without becoming overly bored. The recurring wilds are great and come frequently enough to keep things interesting. Whether or not it is better or more rewarding than the Berryburst Max version is something you will have to decide yourself.
