Theme and general information

At first glance, you might think that you’re looking at a classic slot. We get 4 reels with 3 rows and only 10 paylines. There are three different joker characters on the reels and otherwise relatively simple symbols that do remind us of classic fruit machines. Except, there’s a dragon fruit and a star fruit, the dice look decidedly funky and we get an infinity 8 (not a lucky 7) and two orbs in blue and red with a water droplet and a fire symbol inside.

That’s not a whole lot of different symbols. But on such a small reel set that’s quite alright. You still won’t see wins every two seconds as this is a volatile game.

The graphics are excellent, of course, as we are used to from Push Gaming and they don’t disappoint, even with a slot seemingly as simple as this one. The dark purple background in the base game glitters nicely and we also get a very interesting club music background soundtrack that gives us a mix of house and trance, which is quite entertaining.

The infinity 8 gives us the biggest wins in the base game with 100x our stake for 4 on a payline. The funky dice follow with 50x our stake for such a win. Everything else is a lot less on the paytable, but we are not complaining.

Three Jokers and three features

As deceptively simple as this slot might feel, the three Joker features pack quite the punch. Let’s have a look at each of them:

Blue Joker – When the blue joker lands three times on reels 2, 3 and 4, he is turned into three joker hats as the feature begins. We now get 3 re-spins where only further joker hats (which could be gold trimmed for a higher value or have multipliers of up to 25x attached) and the red joker symbol land on the reels. The reels get spinning and the re-spins count down. As we collect further joker hats or red jokers, they remain sticky on the reels and also reset the re-spin counter to 3. On the right-hand side we also collect droplets. For every 3 that we get, the reels are expanded by 1 row. Once the free spins are over (because we didn’t get any further hats or red jokers), they all get assigned a coin value, then the multiplier is assigned, and wins are added. If we manage to collect three red jokers, the Red Joker feature is launched (more on that below).

Green Joker – When we land the green joker three times, a bonus wheel appears. It has 14 segments, 2 booster segments and 12 number segments. We spin the wheel and when it lands on a booster, we get a 2x and then a 5x multiplier, which are multiplied with each other. In fact, all multipliers are multiplied, if we catch them. The numbers function as multipliers for our initial stake. So, if we land the 1, our stake is multiplier by 1 and added to our cumulative winnings. Then the segment gets dark. If land on it again, we will get the same win applied again but the feature ends. If we end up landing on the red joker eventually, we will then launch the Red Joker feature.

Red Joker – Now we get the Hypermode spins. We get a 20 second timer and the reels spin at dizzying speeds. The aim is to collect as many winning combinations as possible. If more red jokers land, they are added to a meter and each time the meter is full, 10 more seconds are added to the timer, which continuously counts down. When the timer eventually reaches 0, the free spins end. But until then, we could theoretically rest the counter endlessly.

Verdict: A great-looking slot that will take some time to wrap your head around but then it’s fun

The theoretical RTP (Return to Player) for Joker Troupe is 96.68%, which is excellent, though this is a highly volatile slot. Still, the features hit frequently enough and it’s definitely possible to trigger two in a row if we manage to catch the blue or green joker and then collect enough of the red jokers.

The pace of this slot can indeed by dizzying, which makes it feel exciting and always entertaining. Sometimes a feature will end with a 7x your stake win, sometimes the base game can give us 140x our stake for the infinity 8 and multiple line wins.
