Theme and general information

Guess what’s featured more than anything else in a slot called Fruit Party? Fruits, of course. Aside from Asian themed slots, the fruit themed variety seems to be the favourite in Pragmatic Play’s portfolio.

Except, we’re missing the party aspect in this slot, which looks a little pale. Think neon colour pale. Yes, it’s colourful but there’s just a certain something missing, which is a pity.

The setting is overall pleasant enough with a bit of a Caribbean island background soundtrack. But we would have liked for the fruits to pop more than they do. They lack substance somehow.

In any case, we get mostly fruits and a few other items on the large grid of symbols, including hearts, stars, plums, grapes, apples, oranges and strawberries. The latter are the most valuable and pay for a cluster of 15 or more 150x our stake.

There are no wilds in the game and the scatter is a golden fruit of some kind.

Cluster pays and cascading wins

As is the case with grid slots, we get cluster pays in this game. That means 5 or more matching symbols touching vertically or horizontally form a winning combination. That is then removed from the grid to make room for more symbols falling in from above.

Cascading wins come without multipliers in this game, but symbols can trigger random 2x multipliers in the base game. That is such a rare thing to happen, however, that we didn’t see it even once during more than 300 spins.

Multipliers in the free spins

Three scatters kick off the free spins with 10 spins. During the free spins, the multipliers show up much more frequently and symbols can have a 2x or 4x multiplier. Depending on the cluster size, those multipliers combine to a maximum of up to 256x multiplier, which is pretty awesome.

More scatters also mean more free spins. For three, four, five, six or seven scatters you can expect 10, 11, 12, 13 or 14 more free spins.

In theory, there is no limit to how many free spins you can collect, however, the maximum win is capped at 5,000x your bet, so once you reached that the free spins are over and whatever remains is forfeited.

Verdict: A solid slot that lacks the little extra to make it worth your while

The theoretical RTP (Return to Player) for Fruit Party is 96.5%, which is well above average and excellent for a slot with medium volatility such as this one. So, if you are hoping for some decent wins here and there, Fruit Party shouldn’t disappoint.

That said, the slot is missing just that little something that makes it worth your while. It won’t rob you blind and if you like this sort of slot, it’s decent enough. But it just doesn’t wow us and feels boring once you play it for a little while. There’s no good reason to recommend this slot. Just as there is no reason to warn you away.
