Electric Sam Slot Review
Released in December 2014, you can play this game at online casinos such as Rizk, Unibet or LeoVegas.
Theme and basic information
Electric Sam doesn’t have a theme you can summarize in one word. It doesn’t just fit one category. And it is really odd. It seems, the designers at ELK Studios has a fruit machine in mind when they started out. To make things more interesting or less classic, perhaps, they turned the fruits neon. The lucky 7 and a bell also show up in the reels.
And then there are the trolls. Yes, that’s right. There are trolls in the game. Sam himself is the Troll King. He is accompanied by his wife Sandra and their daughter Maggie also features. The whole scene is set in the forest, where the trolls are at home.
When the reels are standing still, we mostly hear light music and some twinkling as well as birds chirping. Somewhat traditional jingles play once you start spinning the reels. It all fits nicely together, which is what matters the most.
Sam is the most valuable symbol, paying out 300 coins for 5 on a payline. His wife is worth 200 coins for such a win and little Maggie pays out 100 coins. The low value symbols are the lucky 7, cherries, melons, plums and lemons all in neon.
The bell is the scatter in the game. And the Electric Sam symbol is the wild.
This game comes with 243 ways to win, which means, any three matching symbols on adjacent reels from left to right will pay out a win.
You can play this game from 0.20 to 100.00.
It’s all about the free spins
There really isn’t anything to say about the base game, because you’ll only be spinning the reels, waiting for the free spins to trigger. When you land 3, 4 or 5 bells on the reels, you’ll receive 5, 10 or 15 spins, respectively.
Also, each additional bell on the reels during the free spins will add another free spin for you.
The three trolls each come with a special feature, which is activated whenever you get at least three of each on the reels:
- Sam – One of the reel symbols is chosen and electrified to become a sticky wild throughout the free spins.
- Sandra – She increases the multiplier by 1x when she appears. It’s possible to get 10x, but you usually only get 2x or 3x.
- Maggie – She will destroy between 7 and 9 symbols on the reels, making room for more symbols from above and hopefully new winning combinations.
Conclusion: Electrifying fun and plenty of free spins to win
The theoretical RTP (Return to Player) is 96.30%. That’s decent value and since this is a game with low to medium variance, you won’t be digging too deeply into your funds. Wins also won’t be massive most of the time, but every once in a while, you might be surprised.
Electric Sam is surprisingly fun and entertaining, and the free spins aren’t too hard to come by. Still, the base game holds little excitement and if you don’t like the theme, you might move onto something else sooner rather than later. Still, for a little while it’s a nice distraction that won’t break the bank.
