Cazino Zeppelin Slot Review
Cazino Zeppelin is a video slot from Yggdrasil Gaming with 5 reels and 20 paylines. Released in November 2014, this is one of Yggdrasil’s earlier slots but no less beautiful and creative. You can play this Steampunk Casino adventure at online casinos such as Dunder Casino, PlayOjo or Casino Heroes.
Theme and basic information
Cazino Zeppelin brings us an old-fashioned casino that is allowing high-flying players to gamble whilst flying high in a zeppelin. Clearly inspired by Steampunk, the four high rollers on the reels wear the appropriate fashion and accessories. We get a pipe smoker who wears goggles on his hat and a wad of cash in his hand, a funky-looking dice player, a card player with metal fingers and a manic-looking chip hoarder who appears to be half robot. Yggdrasil, as usual, payed plenty of attention to detail and drew the characters beautifully.
Even the card suit symbols (hearts, clubs, spades and diamonds) look beautiful in their detail and fitting for the theme. The background sound is giving us a sense of danger and adventure at the same time and sets the mood just right.
The highest-value symbol is the pipe smoker, who pays out 2,000 coins for a win of 5 of a kind. The dice player reels in 1,000 coins for such a win and the card player still earns us 750 coins. The chip hoarded brings in 500 for a 5-of-a-kind win.
Take note of the wild symbol, which looks like a Harley Quinn-esque joker sporting a different look and pose on each reel. The Zeppelin poker chip is the free spins symbol in the game.
Basic gameplay
The base game doesn’t hold any big surprises for us. You get 20 fixed paylines and can select bets between €0.20 and €10, meaning the game may have a high-roller feel to it but isn’t exactly aimed at high roller.
If you set up auto-play, you’ll see the reels spinning at extravagant speed, which is handy, if you don’t want to wait too long to hit the free spins, but your funds may drain just as quickly here.
It’s worth mentioning that the scatter pays out 40 coins when you get at least two anywhere on the reels.
Bonus feature
However, you need at least three scatters to trigger the free spins. Once you do that, you get 10 spins and 40 coins. Triggering the feature with four scatters will give you 15 spins and 40 coins. And if you manage to activate the free spins with five scatters, you’ll get 20 spins and 40 coins.
Additionally, any wilds on the reels at that time will be transferred to the free spins feature, where they become sticky on the reels. Any further wilds that land on the reels during the feature will also become sticky and should you get one each of the five different wilds on their respective reels, you will be awarded with five more free spins.
That’s about it for the feature. The free spins play through quickly and you’ll be crossing your fingers for more wilds to land and become sticky. Big wins are absolutely possible, but this is a volatile slot and sometimes you’ll only get one sticky wild on reel five and will be left disappointed.
Conclusion: A hard and fast Steampunk adventure
The theoretical RTP (Return to Player) for Cazino Zeppelin is 96%. That’s an average value and considering how very volatile this slot can be, it feels accurate. Wins are few and far, though when they come, they can be handsome.
Still, even the free spin feature can be a hit and miss. You can get four wilds locked on reels 4 and 5 and walk away with 10x your bet. That’s hardly great. With a little lucky, you get two to four wilds on different reels and walk away with 150x your bet. Anything is possible and that’s part of the thrill in this slot. But it also makes it quite inconsistent. We did manage to trigger the free spins 5 times during 600 spins, so at least it appears consistently.
Cazino Zeppelin is beautifully done and if you like unpredictable and volatile slot, you might have some fun here. But hold onto your hat, because the higher you fly, the windier it gets and your wad of cash might just be torn from your hands.
